- This is a Old Bicycle made in Japan. My sister used to use it in high school and it been 20 years now. After restore it, i feel it work pretty well. I will send this bike to my sister as a gift. Guess she'll be very happy to see her old bike restored.

I've restored literally hundreds of bicycles over the years myself, including taking the wheels apart and cleaning them and rebuilding them back but I would never do a bike in that condition again. I have of course but it's just too much work for what you end up with in the end. In America there are so many high end bikes with little value, it's easy to get a much cleaner garage kept bike that you can restore in a day with very little work compared to that rusty old outdated thing. Good job though, not hating at all.

EVAPO-RUST, a totally non toxic, bio-degradable and re-usable rust remover. I've been rebuilding and upgrading bikes since the early 80's, it works. You DON'T need to wire brush them.

@@ZackZean21 no, because the brake is on the other side, you can put gears only if your bike has designed hangers and stuff for gears

I like how western bikes had hand brakes even 20, 30 or more years ago. When I was kid, only snob kids had hand brakes on their bikes, we were all braking by back position of pedals with brake in rear wheel hub and it was ok. We were drifting with such brake because it was much more effective than old V brakes. That Czechoslovak bikes from 60s were looking very similar to today "Holland style" bikes and that is why we calling that Holland bikes hipster bikes, because it's trying to pretend it's vintage but it's not. :-D

We had bikes with back positions of pedals on some bikes in France too in the 80's (the most were with hand brakes), it was '' rétropédalage '' and you're right, it was fun! But the most of time we were drifting with our... Shoes!

@@34.FB.34 Braking with shoes is something what I really don't remember, I am 27 years old. :-D Even my first bike when I was cca 5 years old had already "torpedo brake" in rear wheel so it was braking by pedals to back position. But I had probably some better bike, I see now that many of kid bikes have fixed gear so pedals are moving constantly, that's very dangerous I think. :-D

The kids here where I live aren't allowed out right now because of covid-19 so I bartered for an old bike the same as you restored. Ive restored old motorcycles and cars and I'm going to teach my ten year old adopted daughter how to restore this bicycle. She was not too happy to see a bike I got for her that has some rust but not as bad as the bike in the video. I told her she was going to pick the colors and do a lot of the work to restore it. I will make a video of her restoring it and I'm sure when it's done she will have pride she fixed it and customized it herself. I showed her this video of the same bike and she became thrilled to restore hers.
