Dark Star just saved my musical ass! I'm playing guitar for a musical production. The, very exposed, guitar part requires multiple ambient "loops" and my looper pedal was just not getting the right atmosphere. Then I remembered I had the Dark Star. Using delay mode, I was able to instantly generate a beautiful drone creating the perfect texture/mood for the scene. Thanks guys, keep up the great work:)

It's exactly like someone said before on the comments, I discovered this Brand just like months ago and there are lots of pedals that seemed like you guys read my mind. I've been looking for that detuned/modulated reverb for a long time and I found the dark star. And the cherry on the top was the crusher mode, which is another effect I was after but I wasn't convinced by the tone on the avaiable pedals out there until I heard the dark star. This was probably one of my best purchases ever

This and the Procession are easily some of the most magical reverbs I have ever heard. I gotta wait, have a few good reverbs but these are so organic, evocative and just plain musical sounding. Never thought I. Was a Fuzz guy, but I got the Haunt and I know it was speaking in tongues a few days ago when I was recording it through a bunch of time based weirdness. I shut those off, turned up the haunt...and indeed, it was haunted...by the local news radio station! How cool is that? Cool, but can you make radio type pedal that lets you broadcast your own AM radio frequency to play through my Haunt? Please! You have to!

this is a demo with a cutey-pie dog +2 the dark star demonstration was fun informative , I would like to create a clip in my t.c .electronics looper, play it in to the dark star so the I could play the dark star with both hands , which is to yes I want one , but my bank manager tells me I can afford one. a .great creation . Just got my dark star and black fountain delay. So much inspiration. Building my pedalboard tonight and was wondering your input. Should I run them in my FX loop or in front? And would you put the DS first and then the BF? Playing through a Revv 100p. Going for ambient soundscapes mixed with grind/noise/death/black metal. My next purchase is Procession. Thanks!

I'm just a random schmuck but my suggestion would be to try them both. It depends on how your preamp interacts with your pedals that will determine what will work best. I've noticed with distortion or fuzz it can get muddy if you are not running an EQ but that maybe more desirable in a grind/noise context.

I just bought one of these; the blue one (v2). I originally saw it at NAMM a few years back and loved it. I've been playing with it all day and there's so many posibilities. Hello! The standard Dark Star color-way is light blue ink on a black texture enclosure. There have been several limited color-ways of Dark Star released throughout the years but internally they're the same. The primary differences between v1 and v2 Dark Stars is an external expression control and center-detent pots for CTRL1 and CTRL2.

Forget the pedal, can I just have the dog? I've read a number of comments/reviews that mention a high noise level with the pedal engaged. Not sure if they were talking about an older version or something. Is this something to worry about or was it most likely due to improper use? I need this pedal in my life, it's so moody and sad but in the most calming and satisfying way.

Lennart N Did they or anyone else ever address the noise issue? I don’t hear noise on any of the demos, are your wall sockets the grounded 3 prong type? I live in a very old house and very few of the outlets are the 3 prong type so I get a lot of noise and popping sounds out of some of my gear especially guitars that don’t have shielded electronics cavities.
