This sd70M was working the hump at BNSF Cherokee train yard in Tulsa Oklahoma. Tons of heritage power out here

Love seeing the old Big Macs still kickin! Same with the newer MACe rebuilds as they look pretty good in H4. 9976 sounding real good here. The H2 MACs however, have always had problems with their paint fading so much like how you see here. It sucks because it also looks good on them. Overall, I’m glad SD70MACs are still a common sight on BNSF’s coal drags even if most of them are constantly in and out of storage.

I agree! BNSF has by far one of the best and most unique set of locomotives. I love that they still use the MACs at the Cherokee Yard humps. They’re always an awesome sight when I drive through there

That’s awesome! I know that’s Tulsa and I’m curious if that’s publicly accessible to get to where you are in the video or if it’s railroad property

It’s a parking lot up by the hump and we quickly learned that it’s not public property! BNSF railroad police hit hard!

@RedRiverRailfan Жыл бұрын
Yes! They pull a stretch of cars up a hill and decouple them one by one. Those cars then roll down into the train yard into specific tracks to build trains faster. I suggest this video that explains it well: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aqbVammid9eYZtksi=qNpFlgmYL9pGb9An
