Here's a tip next time you trying to nail in a long piece of lumber like that if it's 12 in wide put a drywall screw on your studs uprights at 12 and 1/4 in on either end to help you hold the board up so you can set it where you want it does two screws all your second and third helpers when you're doing it by yourself

I have run into that myself before. (We all have) What worked well for me was to use a 6-8 ft straightedge across several studs at a time and find the high spots. Use an electric hand plane to slowly remove the high spots in very small increments (1/32 or less) until the straightedge sits flat across the studs. This gives you good straight studs to work with. Thanks.

Looking good Wes. As a part time wood worker, I drool every time over seeing all those beautiful boards that you have access to. And I have to pay a small fortune to buy just a few board feet. But I know, we’re not suppose to envy. Right? Enjoy watching all your videos.

It looks beautiful, Wes! Good job - thank you for bringing us along and showing us the ups and downs of your project here. Your table saw did not like that true 2x4 - it bogged down quite a bit. Wood is still rather green, I suppose. That'll do it. Almost need a 3-phase bench saw for that one! It's always great to see your sidekick - your son! Fun to watch him grow and familiarize himself with the trigger of a variable speed drill - with Dad's permission, of course! Love your videos, whatever the project!

BOY I do love the wood! I just heard you say that you're open to comments - I just started watching your channel. I was drawn here to watch the pole barn construction. COOL! Then I watched you tear out termite 2x's and install a new, mulled, window.. II did not see enough room nor did I see you insulate the bottom.. If I may - when installing windows make the R/O large enough to raise the window off of the horizontal R/O giving you enough room for insulation. I know you're in a warm climate but every air leak adds up to warm and cold infiltration.

Oh man, how I love that wood in that room. Ceiling and walls. I hope you won't slap paint on it. It is just beautiful. I know you'll be glad when you finish that job, but it's looking soooo good and I've been enjoying watching your progress. P.S. you need to watch those electrical thingies! Scared the crap outta me! 😊

Wes dont worry about the top gaps being perfect, it won`t happen, you just cut some trim boards and trim it all out, the trim boards will flex you can push them right up to the ceiling and shoot a brad, if you plan on trimming it, for the day it would take you, I would trim the whole room out. You will have a nice finished look, with no gaps, i`m no carpenter either, thats why they sell moulding, you can cut your own, love the knotty pine look, all the best to you and your family.

A little line of the original Gorilla Glue (that DOES foam up) would help, just put the glue down before nailing and adjust to flush and the glue will expand and make things solid when it dries.

Not an expert, but it seems planing would be easier and more accurate. Or you could plane or rout the back of the wall boards where they lay on the proud studs.😊

Ill leave the gospel here: How do you get to hell? Very simple: claim that you're innocent. How do you get to heaven? Very simple: Admit that you're not Innocent, you're guilty and ask for mercy. How to know if you're guilty or not? Simply: Compare your life to the Ten Commandments God gave you in the Bible. Everyone agrees that if people followed the ten commandments there would be no need for governments or police. Do not lie. Do not steal. Do not commit adultery. Do not insult God by using his name as a cuss word. There are six more but let's just leave it at that. How many lies have you told in your life? Have you ever taken anything that didn't belong to you? Jesus said, if you look at a women lustfully you've already committed adultery in your heart with that woman. How many times a day do you do that? Do you use God's name as a cuss word? Would you do that with your own mother's name? If you answer these questions honestly you know that you're guilty. God can justly punish you and send you to hell. Ask him for mercy. His name is Jesus. It's as simple as this, The Ten Commandments are called the moral law. You and I broke God's laws. Jesus paid the fine. The fine is death. Ezekiel 18:20 - "The soul who sins shall die." That's why Jesus had to die on the cross for our sins. This is why God is able to give us Mercy. Option A. You die for your own sins. Option B. Ask for mercy and accept that Jesus died on the cross for you. ❤ **Honest questions are welcome.**
