Can an old camera like a Nikon d5200 still make decent shots today? Of course it can! In this video I take my old Nikon, the first camera I've ever bought, out on the streets for some good ol' street photography. POV style.
The Nikon d5200 is an eight year old, aps/c camera with 24 megapixels and I haven't used it for quite some time. I have to say, the images surprise me! And you?
What's the oldest camera you own? Do you still use it sometimes?

8 Years is not such a long period, but in technology the development is so fast.... Four weeks ago, I made the same challenge and took out my 10 years old Pentax K-7 and I was surprised about the quality.

There's nothing wrong with these old cameras. They produce beautiful images. The only issue is using the kit lenses in low light and relying on some of the less accurate systems to work for you. I'm using a D5000 for street photography and I've had some great shots. It's just night and autofocus and sometimes the metering that catches me out.

The D5200 is still my first and only camera. After buying a few lenses, it's all I need to enjoy shooting still. Going to get the 16-80mm lens and keep at it 👍

I used my Argus 1940's range finder 35mm until 2001 when it was stolen.. then my 1980 Nikon 35mm was last used 2008 in the Tetons.

Canon EOS T1i, dust bunny. We’re spoiled by capabilities of current cameras. “Thunder down under”???”

I still take my old canon 60d out sometimes. It’s the camera that I really learned manual shooting with.

My second came is Nikon D80 and yesterday I ordered second hand D5200 to replace it my second camera, not because D80 is poor but I want liveview that I does not allways use Viewfinder and keep camera on my face.

Nice. I bought this camera way back 2013. I was really interested in photography. As a beginner, I watched and read almost everything about photography back then. I enjoyed snapping pictures everytime I see of interests. 2017, I stopped because I needed to focus on building my skills on transitioning to IT industry. When I saw this video about this camera, it excites me to get back with photography. Great content

Thanks for showing off your corner of the world! Beautiful city. Nice photos. My oldest camera I'm shooting with is my 2001 Olympus e-20. It's just fun to go back to the basics sometimes and stop relying on crazy dynamic range or high MP to get me out of trouble ;)

Loved the review and the city tour!. I currently use a D5200 but when I get nostalgic I go out with some of my film cameras. In those occasions, I use a Yashica MAT124G, a Zeiss Ikonta 524/2 or my father’s Ihagee Exa type 4 (first 35 mm I ever used). My oldest cameras would probably be : Target Brownie SIX-16 made in the late 1940s (film format discontinued 35-40 years ago), a 1954 8 mm cine-camera Paillard-Bolex B8 and a Graflex Crown Graphic from the early 1950s. I mostly used the Crown Graphic to shoot landscape and it’s a great camera but being mostly stuck in the city, i must admit it’s a bit too cumbersome and conspicuous to be great street photography gear 😉

I purchased this one about 6yrs ago for my 1st dslr w/kit lens, didn't do much with it and got sidetracked with other things in life. Now I am trying to get back into photography and videos, just purchased a 35mm prime...now I just gotta stick with it! Good video✌️

That conversation with the old man warmed my heart. Also thanks for the video! Im still a teen but ive taken a liking of photography, and im still starting with that particular camera you’re using. I tend to focus on taking pictures mostly of people and not really the surroundings itself so this really inspired me 👏

Love the camera review especially since you are in Holland. I was stationed there in the 80’s at Soesterberg Air Base.
