I got the GF3 a few years ago.. I am a documentary/expressionist photographer I do a lot of street work in the Dominican Republic.. anyway some lady asked me in Spanish if I was interested in another camera.. I said ok let see it first.. the next she came and wow I was impressed it looked amazing white metal frame and a 14-42 lens.. it got it for about 3-4 million pesos which works out to be roughly 30- 40 dollars.. anyway no charger.. so I ordered a charger and wow I love it great shots with this incredible little camera.. plus a few years ago it was selling on Amazon for about 400 dollars brand new.. so I got a great deal.. it was brand new I am sure she was selling it cause of no charger..

I had a GF3 x 14mm f2.5 lens many years ago and I loved how tiny it is! Your video made me want to get that combo again 🙃

I purchased a GF3 +14mm secondhand from a camera store for about $45USD (at the exchange rate of the time) when the shop was doing a big sell off of it's old trade ins and other used gear - I only purchased it for the lens to use on my newish GX7 but when I found out it used the same battery I decided to take the GF with me when travelling as a "spare" body. however I found my self often just taking out the GF3 +14 and 20mm pancake lenses for daytime street photography - even now 10 years later the little GF3 still gets used far more than I'd expect given I now have G9 and GX9 as well as APS and full frame Canon cameras that technically and theoretically blow the little GF3 away. there's something just so handy and discreet with this camera with a pancake lens on it that not only allows me to slip it in a pocket but take shots without people reacting the same way as if you pointed a pro level/size camera at them

Olympus is also a good option. Bought an E-PL6 and it's great. So good to have such a second hand market!

I also just got an E-PL5, only had time for a couple test shots with the kit lens but the results look really good!

Would this be better than a modern smartphone for photos?

Thank you for the video. I have a question. Can you touch the camera screen well? I bought it this time, but the screen toucher doesn't work well. It's an old item anyway, so should I just use it? i can just control it with buttons

I don’t really use touchscreen on cameras. Mine worked well but again, I find myself more comfortable using buttons all the time. In that case, I think that is not a problem

@ Thank you. I'll just use it:)

I'm looking for something like this for everyday carry. My smartphone I use mostly for listening to music with headphones. Also, it takes me time to punch in my code and switch to photo and after that, the moment has passed. So, want something that I can keep in my bag for those moments. This looks promising.

GX1 is pretty heavier, the mount on gf3 is chamfered making it look more sleek. But anyway, none of those have silent mode, and the shutter sound is so clanky, for me no silent mode for compact mirrorless is a crime.

EPM2 and EPL series would be a good comparison

Really makes me wish for panasonic to reintroduce the GF and GX series, and OM SYSTEM bringing back the pen series cameras.

The OM Pen E-P7 is still sold in certain asian markets but trying to find it else where usually you run in to crazy money prices for them, same with the (actually discontinued) GM1 and GM5 from Panasonic - last Pen E-P7 I saw secondhand locally was at a camera store (body only new ish ex Japanese stock) was significantly more than a brand new Lumix G85 (with lens) - and it had sold by the next time I visited to see if I could haggle down the price

@@TheRealMarxz I got my E-P7 in Europe new for €450, it's fantastic and the price seemed ok to me 🤷
