Old Car, New Lights - LED Headlights on the '66 Galaxie

I've gotten a lot done on the Galaxie in the past two weeks, including putting some LED headlights in and lots of visual improvements/usability fixes.

Very Nice Ride. I hope you install relays to those bad boys or you will fry the wires. The reason is that most of those type of lights are rated for 100 watts. That is a ton of load and power draw. What I did was since I also have 4 headlights, I installed 2 relays per side. Each side has a low beam relay and a high beam relay. No need to install relays to the blinkers.

Nice car I have a 68 convertible I have to do the same thing as far as changing all the interior lights to dash I already changed the front headlights also.

were these plug and play? ive heard of people have to add some kind of resistor to make the leds work with the older cars.

You have to make this digital dash on this one like you did on triumph. Ideally step by step tutorial because I have 66 fastback 😄

I thought about it! I will probably go with a VHX dash (www.dakotadigital.com/index.cfm/page/ptype=product/product_id=1118/mode=prod/prd1118.htm) since that would look a little more standard. The Galaxie dash wouldn't be super conducive to an LCD since it's so wide and thin.

I recently purchased a 66 Galaxie 500 and thought it odd that the low beams are on the bottom of the stack. My past experience with Fairlanes, the lows were on top of the stack. Thoughts? Was previous owner just messing around or was this a thing?

What was the name of the company that you mentioned about the digital gauge cluster? I know Dakota maked one but it looks too much like the original.

I know someone put a lot of money into that car to get it to look like it does but I just don't care for what they did. But to each their own I guess. No accounting for taste....
