Back in the 20s and 30s boys 12 yrs old were driving about in "T"s like no big deal

Yep. They had to help on the farms, and were taught very young how to drive.

In the 30's the family egg farm had one and when people would visit the farm the boys would siphon the gas out of their cars to use in the t. The egg farm's been gone since the late 30's

You should check for stuck valves. It could be the reason you can't get #4 to fire. Take out the plugs and shine a light into the hole. You can see the valve heads and tell if they are moving. Squirt in some PB, tap the valve down GENTLY, crank it back up, repeat, repeat, repeat. Buy a 6 volt battery at the Farm and Home store.

If he knows he doesn't have ignition in that cylinder the chances are it does have compression but yeah I always see if it has fire first then if it has any compression at all it should run

Sometimes the coils go bad need rebuilt, try taking them out cleaning them up, or find another 2nd hand coil, these old spark plugs generally come apart too, try another plug on No1 to see if you have spark.

Hey guys, send me your coils and I’ll get them working properly. The coils are the reason for your bad miss. A model t engine actually runs very smoothly. Go to coildoctor.com for my address. I’ll do them for free since you guys are young.
