I was so fortunate to have met Jimmy Carter when he visited all the houses being built on the Cheyenne River Sioux Reservation in Eagle Butte South Dakota! He was a so kind and welcoming to all the volunteers! Summer 1994! Jimmy is my definition of a"Good CHRISTIAN"! He definitely cares about people! I also love that he was a graduate of the US Naval Academy ,here in MARYLAND! He was a Nuclear Engineer and also a Submariner! We are a Navy family! 🥰⚓⛵🌅⛵⚓🇩🇪🇨🇭🇺🇲💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙

Very interesting!! Look at all those rows of planted pine trees. George Washington Carver was the peanut farmer as was Jimmy Carter.Your library visits are paying off.Sometimes in person research is better than strictly online.Thanks again!!

George Washington Carver saved my mother and all her siblings (12 children) from any lasting effects from polio. The old country Dr told my grandmother to massage the children with peanut oil daily.( It's the only oil that can absorb through muscle tendons blood vessels nerves and bone) He had heard George pleading and begging people to do this but because he was a Black man in the 1940s people just wouldn't listen. ( BTW the Dr. was white mother was half white half Native American.) I'm so grateful my grandmother listened. 2 of mothers brothers ended up playing pro football my aunt was a synchronized swimming expert all of them were/are ( not many left sadly) wonderful dancers so I wish more people would have listened really a shame they didnt. He is also seldom credited for this discovery as well.

@@joycebowen8958 U realize that Carver wasn't an actual medical doctor! He did receive a "doctorate" in a certain field of study though! And to say he was a "black man of the 40's" He only lived until 1943 Most of his influence as a agricultural scientist happened earlier on cuz he was born in 1864 we think! He had a master's in botany I believe!

@lalani888ARTblue 10 ай бұрын
@@chairlesnicol672It's unfortunate that the medical model leaves out a vast amount of vital, healing information for those in need. More and more doctors are thankfully realizing this and educating themselves in order to combine the two. As more and more people finally learn to respect the healing wisdom of our ancestors - people are literally learning to cure themselves from things that doctors simply don't have the answers to. Our future will be much better as God intended.

TY other Robert for video. Love the history. It always makes me wonder what life was really like back then and what they thought about and what they would think about how we live now. I wish we lived like they did back then even if had to get rid of all the technology we have today and all the "white noise " for simple life even if was a harder life.

@@snydedon9636 I am old-fashioned in that I see the care of a grave as a sign someone is still around to remember them, to respect their only little spot left on earth. So overgrown you can't even read the stone is sad to me.

The wise family plantation house would be another good place to find. It’s not far from there. It’s also intertwined with Roslyn Carters family. My great grandmother Georgia Francis Wise Staats told me about it years ago when Roslyn and Jimmy came to our family reunion. About all I know is it’s on property owned by a paper company and is not far from an old swimming hole from the 1800’s and early 1900’s.
