Old Coins found Metal Detecting Old Road bed To a Home Site in the Old Tennessee Woods.

Some Secrets of these old woods are slowly being uncovered as I get into an old road bed to a home site. After close to a year in this rocky ridge I finally find some old coins. Mr Donnie keep up this labor of love. My home place has a trench from the civil war. My dad let a friend metal detect his property. He found gold coins , not one but several. I know someone else that found a belt buckle, worth 1,000’s of dollars, and he was on the cover of a magazine for his find. It’s out there , it just takes persistence and patience. Glad you found some silver, Donnie. It's said that My Grandpa, who born in the late 1880's, his some money on their land, but to date, no one has been able to find it. Maybe someday as it was said to be coins, and the land is still in the family has been for over a century now.

I really love the coins I've found many in interesting places such as streams some in early 1900s I get hooked when I find them. Some in places deep in the woods the only thing I can figure is some may have been old campsites where they may have fell out of pockets I've found 32 old silver coins many copper pennies wheat from long ago. Best way to clean cions . Use mercury then rinse with water. But make sure u wear rubber gloves. Shines them up like new. Won't make any marks on them.

With the price of silver going up finding silver is finding treasure I love the old silver coins I have tubes of the old pre 65 silver dollars dimes half dollars quarters and even the 30% war nickles love the old silver coins! And of course the old Shield and buffalo nickels and pennies aren't silver but they're still so cool to find

Coins are fun to find, because they give you a definite frame of reference by their date. You know it wasn't lost before the minted date and chances are, by the wear on the coin, it was separated from it last owner within 25 years of the date it was made. Like that 1912 nickel, it was probably being pocket carried about a hundred years ago before the Jefferson nickel that started in 1938.
