Car sat for 2 weeks in the garage, and it was time to starter er' up.
Still have some electric gremlins to take care of.
This was shot at around 5am in the morning with the temp being 60 Fahrenheit (Kinda cold for my area in California)
Side note: I usually have a 17in. Red Fox tail at the end of my keys, but I took it off so you guys could see the foot pumping action since you don't normally see that kind of stuff in other videos with 58 Plymouths..
Yeah I know it ended rather abruptly, I ran out of card space on the camera.

The movie "Christine" is what got me interested in the '57 and '58 Plymouths. It's made these vehicles as iconic as the '57 Chevy. They are pretty much alike. I believe the Plymouth in this video is a stick shift on the tree. The one in the movie was a push button automatic. The one in the book was also an automatic, but had the shifting lever instead of the buttons. The thing that I admire most about Christine, is her backwards running odometer, which generates a rejuvenating power. When Arnie first got her, he wore glasses. Later, he didn't need his glasses anymore. After giving Christine a ring job to make her not smoke and burn oil, he did the rest of the restoration by driving her around the junkyard behind the garage, utilizing her backwards running odometer. Christine not only rejuvenated herself, but also Arnie's eyes. I have some iconic dining chairs that I really cherish, they are mate's chairs. Four times a year, I'd like to put the chairs in Christine and make a run down to Columbia and back to rejuvenate them as preventive maintanice.

My first car was a 1958 Plymouth 4-door Belvedere, pushbutton powerflite, 318 V8. Copper and black paint job. Bought it used for $150.00 in 1964. It was a cool car, I had lots of fun in it, but the brakes totally sucked. It's a wonder I'm still alive. But you know...I wish I had it back. :-) Your vid took me back. Thanks. Regards, John

Sounds like a great car you had there John. Wow $150? I spent about $3,000 for my plaza here with the 230 flathead 6 with the 3 speed manual/overdrive. For the amount I paid I could have bought a new one back in its hey day! Still not bad for a running, driving, car with no rust through and complete. I understand about the brakes....I really had to put my foot down to stop. You're quite welcome. :)

Starts pretty easy! I started up the '51 the other day, after a few tries it ran and idled pretty well. Hopefully I'll have some videos of it on youtube as soon as I can get some of my friends to help out.

Are you sure this isn't Christine's clone at all I mean if you paint the body red with white on top it would just look like identical to Christine's clone!

Yes you certainly do have some electric gremlins to take care of! Looks like the generator is not charging the battery hence the 'amps' warning light is still on when engine started & running, possible control box problem or brushes need replacing in dynamo & obviously the fuel gauge is not working either, bad connection somewhere or float on sender unit sunk in fuel tank perhaps. Do you still have this car now please?
