To anyone that wasnt aware: I remember hearing on the dgd Facebook group maybe 5yrs ago that a huge reason Johnny is so hated was because he forced his girlfriend at the time to take heroin (holding her down n literally injecting her). Not to mention the more obvious reason that he'd always show up to shows way too high on heroin to function (pretty sure thats also what got him kicked out of Slaves!). He also has said that he was super high for all of DBM2 and couldn't remember recording it at all. Just so everyone knows who wasn't already aware! Still personally love his work on DGD despite all that.

IMO, Loti isn't the best representation of Eidola stylistically or technically. Plus, it's really slow and 5 minutes long. Querents is incredible and closer to their standard. Also, Tetelestai, Aplissimus Machina, and Dendrochronology. Loti is undoubtedly beautiful, I'd rather see a more Eidola song.

Dance Gavin Dance has gone through a lot of changes over the years, but they've always been able to morph their sound mid song, pull out the funk or jazz influenced measures, and then dive straight from that into post-hardcore or metalcore infused sounds. One of the most dynamic bands out there, and one of the coolest.
