One production thing i find really cool in some of rob zombies album is how sometimes what you think is a synth is a guitar part, the melody you mention in the chorus coudl be a synth or does sound like possible a guitar with a whammy pedal (effect that shifts the pitch up or down by a maximum of 2 octaves). As a guitarist that loves messing with sounds, stuff like that is what caught my ear with rob zombie's music.

A major one that go unmentioned most times is Iron Head off that same album and it's the song he did with Ozzy. Something most people don't know about him is he actually started out by doing the set design for Pee Wee's Playhouse.. and he also did the peyote trip scene for Beavis and Butthead Do America. (which makes so much sense going back and watching it again) Not only did he do the music for it but all the animation too. I had to crack up when your head started going around in circles at the same time that in the video Rob is spinning his hair in a circle.. because yes I've seen that video enough times to be able to tell :P You know something about Rob Zombie.. I think he's one of the few modern bands that understands the need for a massive groove and in your face bass.. In all honesty, it reminds me of Fleetwood Mac, especially The Chain (which I can't believe you haven't done.. and please do the remastered album version when you do) the bass line in The Chain.. is off the chain for lack of a better saying.. and we all know Mick's drums are always amazing sounding.
