There was a reason the Hu chose her to write the English part of this song. Her refeverence and ability to honor the feminine is beautiful. Losing my mother at a young age Lzzy Hale's voice and words have propped me up as a young woman and as a vocalist on my own. That strength and power is inspirational to say the least. I can't begin to express my gratitude towards her. Bless you for reviewing this one, it hit me in a different way tonight.

Just a comment on the drum rhythms. As in most Mongolian music it echoes horses in motion. This one is also the human heartbeat which is so prevalent in Native American drumming.

Yeah, I've noticed that they often have several 'elements' (or instances) where they seem to 'imitate' a horse...I've especially noticed it when they do it on their stringed instruments though. But when you pointed it out I can clearly hear it from the drumming as well.

I know there will be an army of Halestorm supporters watching this with recommendations, but to swing attention back to the writers; I have seen The Hu live, and they sound even better and more amazing live than on record. This song was brilliant originally without her, for those who have not heard it. Make no mistake, I think Lizzy is tremendous. I worked security at concerts for years and will tell you that The Hu is the best band I’ve ever seen (Paradise, Boston MA). I expect that to change in October when I see Nightwish but post this as a footnote for others who could see an amazing show. Great seeing another 50 yr old discovering the worlds music thanks to the web. Geebz keep up the great work!

I paged down and skimmed thru the comments and people give you great song suggestions they didn't seem to fill you in about Lzzy & Her Band Halestorm. Lzzy Hale (vocals,piano,rythem/lead guitar) formed the band in 1996(she was 13) with her Younger brother Arejay Hale(Drummer, backing vocals) with their Father Roger Hale(Bass) and after going thru a string of musicians added Joe Hottenger (Guitar, backing vocals) in 2003 & Josh Smith (Bass,Keys, Backing Vocals) in 2004. Were signed by Atlantic Records in 2005 and put them out on the road(250-300 gigs a year) until 2009 and finale put them in the studio where they recorded their first CD that was released in 2010 and back on the road(250-300 gigs a year still) in 2012 they released "The Strange Case Of" their sophomore effort and their first Single from it "Love Bites(So Do I) won them a Grammy in the HardRock/Metal Preformance Category, making them the first female fronted band to win this Grammy. They have released 2 more Records, "Into the Wild Life"(2015) & "Vicious"(2018) and are putting the finishing touches Recording #5 to be released early 2022. They have also released 3 CD's of Cover songs that they let their fans vore on the songs that make it onto each EP of 6 songs and the released "Reimagined" in 2020 a different takes on 5 of their already release songs plus a recording of "I Will Always Love You" the Dolly Parton songs Whitney Houston made into a mega hit on the sound track for "The Body Guard"... The reason I know so much about them is I met them in 2010 almost 3 years after I was paralyzed from the waist down that cut my own 30+ year musical Career short. I still play (Guitar & Bass) but at home for my own enjoyment now. But they took me into the Halestorm Family that first night when they learned of my story and have treated me like a long time friend every time I see them whether inside a Venue or out on the street even one day at a beach in New Hampshire several hours before a show. Lzzy & Joe saw me and came over to me to say high and just talked about things other then music. December 18th will be my 40th time seeing them play Live. You would be hard pressed to find a nicer more humble group of peopleas they are. Hopefully I didn't ramble on to much. Looking foward to watching more of your reactions.

Lzzy Hale is from Halestorm, a group she formed with her brother (the group's drummer) in highschool? I think? Anyway, I like" Love Bites", "I Miss the Misery", "Freak Like Me" and "Shatter Me" (which is a colab she did with fellow KZbinr Linsey Stirling).

Great reaction to a fantastic song! New subscriber and I'll be looking through all your vids!!! Every Heartbeat's a woman's song... Best line of any song ever! I may have to get a tattoo with that one now.

Your enthusiasm for music is just awesome my dude. Your videos are such an excellent way to mellow out at the end of the day. Check out Norupo by Heilung, they have a music video on their channel that gives me full body tingles every time. Rhe male singers do a lot of throat singing as well as a Scandinavian style of gruff almost barking. The female vocalist Maria is one of the most interesting technical singers Ive ever heard. I hope you dig em!

Can't wait for his reactions to Heilung. And please, check out Ru Ana Te Whenua from Alien Weaponry. Such a talented young band.

Kai Tangata is a great track from Alien Weaponry too, and the video is pretty cool. I love that they took the proverbial bull by the horns at such a young age, proving that the youth of the world are still passionate and talented; it makes me happy to know the future of metal music is in the hands of kids who care deeply about keeping it going strong. My son, who wants to start a thrash band, is only a little younger than those boys, and when I found them I was like "see, you don't have to wait to grow up to do what you love! Just find friends who are as dedicated to music as you are."

Awesome! You should check Sleepytime Gorilla Museum! Lots of homemade instruments and really unorthodox rhytmic/harmonic passages! I guess you're gonna enjoy their freshness!
