👉The Hu: This band was founded in 2016. The syllable Hu in the band name is the Mongolian root for the word human. The band name roughly translates as 'the people'. The band's logo shows a snow leopard. The band chose this animal because of its mythical significance. Among other things, it is said to be a symbolic animal for ancient Mongolian tribes. The four members of the band, Gala (Singer), Jaya (Singer), Enkush (Mongolian horse head violin, Undertone singing) and Temka (Mongolian Gitarre), all have degrees in music from the Mongolian State Conservatory. Jaya teaches there under his real name G. Nyamjantsan. The HU have modified and strengthened their instruments, which were mostly played sitting down. The Hu call their style of music Hunnu Rock. They use traditional Mongolian musical instruments such as the horse head violin, the Mongolian guitar and also employ traditional Mongolian undertone singing. The HU have modified and strengthened their instruments, which were mostly played sitting down. From the field of heavy metal they mainly borrow the hammering basses for their music. The Hu are so amazing live! like 8 people on stage and 7 of them throat singing and all of them playing different instruments... And the best is that even if you can't understand a word, you can always shout "Hu! HU!..." in almost every song because of the steady base rythm. It feels so good when the whole audience rides on that primal atmosphere

Hi Molly!! Curiosity: The instrument Morin Khuur, is very prominent in the band, it usually has a sculpture of a horse's head on top and its strings are traditionally made with horsehair, and these beautiful "choros" are an attempt to imitate sounds of horses neighing through the Mongolian prairies, an animal symbol of the traditional peoples of this beautiful country. Something the band tries to bring is the fusion of their country's traditions with modern music. Congrats on the amazing reaction...again!

Beautiful reaction and analysis, Lolli. I knew you would enjoy this. The Hu are fantastic, and live they are incredible, one of my favorite concerts I have attended. When I saw them they performed a tune, "Black Thunder", from their latest album. At times there were 6 men throat singing in unison and it sounded immense. I recommend watching the music videos, parts 1 & 2, they are better than many movies. Being so dramatic probably means it would make for a good reaction video, however. For a reaction, I recommend the acoustic studio performance of "Shireg Shireg". It's a beautiful song, and gives opportunity to see the gentlemen up close.

Sooooooo glad you finally got around to these guys. I never knew I needed Mongolian heavy metal throat singing in my life but apparently I did. I see them every time they're performing within a couple of hundred miles of me. Their energy in concert is amazing. They do a collaboration with jacoby shaddix in this song and it's great. My favorite is Yuve Yuve Yu, it's kinda bluesy and the video is incredible. If you're really interested in their technique you should look up info on the individual singers. They are each proficient in at least one technique, the lead singer is prominent in each category of throat singing

These guys are awesome live, saw them open for Halestorm. They call their sound, 'Hunnu rock'. 'Hu' is inspired by the ancient Mongol/Turkic Hunnu empire 4 members and 4 touring members. Gala and Enkush on Morin Khuur and throat singing. Jaya - throat singing, Tumuur Hhuur (jaw harp), Tsuur(end blown flute) Temka- Tovshuur. Touring members: Ono- percussion Jamba -guitar Davaa- bass Odko- drums. This song was one of several that were redone with new English lyrics and guest singers. This one with Jacoby Shaddix (Papa Roach). Also try Song of Women with Lzzy Hale (Halestorm), and Yuve Yuve Yu, either original or with Danny Case (From Ashes to New)

The Hu have a song "Song of Women" on their first album. Prior to their US tour, they contacted Lzzy Hale wondering if she would be interested in writing related English lyrics over their music and perform the fusion with them. There is a BTS video where both sides, Lzzy and the Hu, explain the importance of women to them. It is somewhat of a spoiler if you think you might want to react to the result of this fusion first, so you can easily find a link to the video. I've used false folds like a throat clearing to growl the sax for years. I've tried moving it down. It changes the sound but also makes it much easier., with no tension. I think my voice teacher is back at our learning center tomorrow. I'll have ro talk with him about this during our lesson. I mentioned it to him before he left and he's excited to talk about it. His wife just had their first child, so he has been out for a week. Peace

Hallo, nice to discover you. My previous favorite singer and probably the best I heard in the past 50 years of listening to music is: The lead singer Floor Jansen from Nightwish. Floor is from the Netherlands and the band with the most brilliant composer coming from Finland. They music is Symphonic Metal (using backtracks of the London Philharmonic Orchestra) with influences of Keltisch and Folkisch sounds and instruments, like Flute and Backpipe. All that played by their multi instrument player Troy Donockley of England. I discovered Floor and Nightwish recently and as an old guy, I'm instantly became a great fan. I hope you gone watch them, and I'm hoping to see a reaction of you. You have a very nice kind of technical /humoristic reactioning (is that English? 😅) Greetings from the Netherlands, Geert de Lange

I love seeing music through your eyes, expertise, and enthusiasm! It opens up whole new worlds for me, and you are the first person who has ever explained music to me in a way that I am able to understand. My teachers in school relegated me to writing reports because I just "didn't get" music, and for years I have believed them, but you have shown me it really is all in the teacher. ❤ I imagine that your list of requests is quite long, but I would like to add a few (...perhaps several, actually) to it all the same: Jonathan Young & Caleb Hyles - The Bella of Notre Dame Jonathan Young - Hellfire Jonathan Young & Caleb Hyles - Wolf Within Colm McGuinness - Hoist the Colours Colm McGuinness - Burn Butcher Burn Colm McGuinness - The Rocky Road to Dublin Colm McGuinness - If I Had a Heart (Old Norse) Annapatsu - Prince Ali Annapatsu - Hellfire Jonathan Young (ft Caleb Hyles, Colm McGuinness, Annapatsu, et al.) - Randy Dandy Oh Peyton Parrish - My Mother Told Me (Old Norse) I could keep on, but I'll restrain myself. They're all independent artists and could use the exposure and attention. They're also all genuinely kind, generous, and sickeningly talented. I hope you're well on the mend, much love to you from northern Alberta, Canada! ❤

@@TheFairyVoiceMother They were purists, very obstinate in their belief that music can only be learned in one way, and if that way doesn't make sense, then it must logically mean that the stupid has no aptitude for the subject. As much passion as I have for music, and since finding you quite by accident a newfound love of understanding what processes singers use to manipulate their sound, it has completely altered how I hear music of all genres. My soul deep love is language, words, and how we express them in so many different ways dependent on the speakers intentions, dialect, emotions, etc. I also love collecting the stories of individuals I meet in my travels. I spent the entirety of my 20s, poor, starving, often homeless, travelling the globe just to sit and talk with people, learn their stories, get to the core of who they were. Often I ended up with shelter and food from these encounters, and like you with your love of humans, this showed me the beauty of people, what they can achieve, what their spirit is made of. I have boxes of notebooks filled with personal accounts, regional stories and myths, their family histories...I want to put them all, tastefully, into a collection of Stories Told by the Voices of Earth's People (working title). So, tangent summed up, finding you felt almost like coming across a kindred spirit, someone who gets the human potential and is passionate about highlighting and sharing the positive. Also, I used to live in the UK, and in London - it's the first and only city I have ever fallen in love with. I miss it intensely!

Don't be too hard on yourself Lolli. If someone tarred you with the infectious brush there's not much you can do about it. I heard another song and this time it's one you might like instead of being one that I like. It's Agseisa singing 'When I look At You' and I think she is singing it live. She sings normally sometimes and sings like she has a bit of laryngitis sometimes and sings like she has three different kinds of the croaky/raspy throat sound the rest of the time. And they are all mixed up one after the other. It's all kind of perplexing for me but I think you will love it !

I have this problem. My problem is that we are not friends irl. Literally every video you do, I'm like, yes. I've said it before, I'll say it again, you are my people and I love you. What can I offer to this friendship, you ask? Well, I'm nuts, which is never boring. I love a sing song, especially if you're going to bring up absolute gems which I'd somehow forgotten about but are absolute bops! AND I have 2 cats which will lovingly purr their souls out for you ❤ For reals and serious tho, I wish you well soon and you are amazing

The part where you said it sounded like crying, it’s more like horse neighing to me, and the bird cries are Falcons, both very important animals to the Mongol culture. Check out Yuve Yuve Yu, and Shireg Shireg (the XM satellite version, unfortunately no CC for this one)

Wow, this is the kind of reaction I like: Enthusiastic, informative and funny. And since you asked for it: How is it possible that you never reacted to the most reacted video on youtube? "Ghost Love Score" live from Wacken 2013 with Nightwish and their singer extraordinaire Floor Jansen. I would looove to hear your thoughts on that one and the whole Nightwish army would welcome you too.
