Old houses force you to do the plumbing in imaginative ways. No two jobs alike. Good work Steve.

It may not be pretty, but it works and it doesn't leak. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. Thanks for sharing. Hope you had a nice Easter.

It's the beginning of 2023 and I just did a bunch of kitchen drain pipe copper one-and-a-half in that had no p-traps on it. This place is built in the sixties or something and they had grease clean-outs instead of free p traps in the sub area, no basement. On Cape Cod which is extremely rare to say because everybody has full basement up here. I am not a plumber by any means but I was able to get it all fixed and replaced. It was completely solid due to that grease trap clean out with the owner called I asked plumbers at the plumbing supplyhouse the name this part none of them could. And one of the guys was an old-timer. He asked if I was working in a restaurant I'm like no this is some kind of piecemeal house the homeowner long time ago and has done nothing to decades to do any upkeep. Every single pipe piece that I touched corroded in my hands. I never want to do another plumbing job like this ever again while it paid well it was just too disgusting...

What's the thought process behind whether you use the sawzall or the grinder to cut a pipe?
@ShowemRight8 жыл бұрын
with saws or grinders..just brace near your work for support of the pipe, especially dealing with metal pipe..as not to shake the pipe..to cause cracks or breaks.

So, from someone who's career is in lawncare, why is that coupler illegal? Seems to me it works just fine, and that is a drain line, so not pressurized. Thanks for posting Steve!

Mr. Lavimoniere, Appreciate you bringing us along thru your video's, I vote they feature you on Mike Rowe's CNN show, Somebody's Gotta Do It ... you're a natural! Anyways, my question is ... how do you consistently get those camera shots so well placed? Very seldom do I find one unbearably dark or skewed out of frame? With all the dark poor quality videos posted on KZbin these days, I'm surprised your one trusty work light has sufficient color balanced illumination allowing us to see. What ever set-up you came up with it certainly works great!

sorry about your tools flying off the table. lol welcome to my world where gravity wreaks havoc on my tools. That's the hard part of service...the money side. But more interesting than doing new construction because of the creativity used to solve problems. do you get the copper for recycling?. What is your plumbing rate? or if that's private I understand.
