Never assume you'll get a guitar solo with The Warning, but when you get one, it will make sense within the context of the song and it will be fantastic. Songwriting is really what sets this band apart, and I mean consistent songwriting, not a one or two hit wonder. Literally everything they put out is extremely well crafted. You'll see. Yes, they have way heavier songs and they sound even better live. Your instinct was correct. MORE is one of their most Pop sounding songs. Checking out Automatic Sun, Hell You Call a Dream, Dust to Dust, Disciple, Six Feet Deep, Animosity and Z. These would be my recommendations. Oh, how could I forget EVOLVE, especially at the MTV VMAs which is a must see.

Excellent 1st-time The Warning reaction Dad! The Villarreal-Velez sisters are amazing songwriters and performers from Mexico who live in Monterrey, San Pedro Garza Garcia, Nuevo Leon. Each one of their original songs is great. Their second album, "QUEEN OF THE MURDER SCENE" (2018), is a concept album. It follows a girl's journey into unrequited love; from infatuation and obsession on into stalking and murder, then madness and the fight over her soul. It is a masterpiece. It was nominated for Best Rock Album at the 2019 Independent Music Awards. Their 1st full-length LP, "XXI CENTURY BLOOD" (2017), is also very good and is packed with many great songs. The video for the title track, "XXI Century Blood", was nominated for and won many awards. Their very 1st released recordings are from their 6 song EP, "ESCAPE THE MIND" (2015); and it is amazing. Despite being courted by numerous offers from many major record labels, The Warning have stayed independent through the years; relying on crowd funding to finance their projects. They refused to give up creative control over their material ... down to even the clothes they wear on stage. After 7 months of negotiations, The Warning signed a 5 album recording contract with Lava/Republic Records/Universal Music Group in the fall of 2020. They decided to release 1/2 (6 songs) of their completed 3rd full-length album in an EP called "MAYDAY" October 8th, 2021. The entire album was released June 24th, 2022: called "ERROR". "Disciple" is my favorite track! Their 4th studio album, KEEP ME FED was released June 28th, 2024. They have released 7 singles: "MORE", "SICK", "HELL YOU CALL A DREAM", "AUTOMATIC SUN", "BURNOUT", "QUE MAS QUIERES", and "SIX FEET DEEP". The Warning do not come from a family of musicians, however, their parents are huge fans of classic rock. Both parents are professionals (recording engineer and dentist) and they enrolled their daughters into a private Catholic English Bilingual school Liceo de Monterrey, Mexico. They also started the girls with classical piano lessons at ages 6, 4 and 5 years old. Regular family functions included gathering around the TV with popcorn and watching LIVE concert dvds of legendary bands like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Queen and AC/DC. When their parents got them the video game Rock Band at ages 8, 6 and 3, they went nuts playing it obsessively. Shortly thereafter they got real instruments with lessons from professional teachers: and the rest is history. Crazy they are 24, 22 and 19 years old and have already written, arranged, and released #57 original songs. They performed 2 songs at the 2023 MTV VMA's. Drummer Paulina writes around 75% of The Warning's songs. Most of her songs begin in rock ballad form; starting with a concept, then chord progression, melody and basic song structure on the piano. She may only have a verse and a chorus when she brings it before her sisters. Together they transpose each instrument's part and "rockify" the song. They complete any lyrics, bridges and any arranging, etc. making changes along the way. A 2/3 approval vote of each instrument's part and each vocal harmony before it becomes a completed song. Paulina has said if not for her sisters, her songs would be different. Both guitarist Daniela and bassist Alejandra write equally great songs; just not as many. Drummer Paulina won Drumeo's 2023 Rock Drummer of the Year and won Best Up and Coming Artist in Modern Drummer Magazine's 2023 reader's poll. They performed AUTOMATIC SUN at the 2024 MTV EMA's (European) in Manchester, United Kingdom. 4 days later they performed QUE MA`S QUIERES at the 2024 LATIN GRAMMYS in Miami, Florida. Both performances highlighted songs that were nominated for an award. I was fortunate enough to get to meet them after their show January 16th, 2020 at The Whisky a Go-Go in Hollywood, California, USA. I had the opportunity to meet with them 3 more times during the 10 shows I attended on their 2022 North American MAYDAY Tour and 2023 ERROR WORLD TOUR. I met them again at Fingerprints Music in Long Beach California for a CD signing on the day their new album KEEP ME FED was released (June 28th, 2024) and the morning after they performed live on the Jimmy Kimmel show. I saw them again October 8th and 9th, 2024 in Los Angeles with a meet-n-greet on the second night. Aside from their music, they are just normal, sweet, intelligent, and fun-loving young ladies who are truely grateful and endearing to their fans. They really shine live: even better than their studio recordings. 🗣 Subscribed! 🤘☺️

Nice first reaction to these three sisters from Mexico who love to rock and are badasses doing it! First time on your channel and liked the vibe and enthusiasm. TWA (The Warning Army) has already started to arrive so here is a quick summary: Dany (Daniela, Guitar/Lead singer, now 24), Pau (“Pow”, Paulina, drums and sometimes lead vocals, 22) and Ale (“Ah-ley”, Alejandra, bass and backing vocals, 19). Their superpower is their live performances. They recently released a number of videos from their concert last year at the Pepsi Center CDMX (Mexico City). The video is 4k, the audio is HD and the energy is amazing. There are many options so to keep it simple, I’ll make 3 suggestions: 1 - suggest starting with the first song from the Pepsi Center concert: Disciple from the Pepsi Center - it explodes with energy. (The next song - “Z” is amazing too and has a really nice solo from Dany.) 2 - next: Hell you Call a Dream official live also from the Pepsi Center. 3 - Evolve from their MTV VMAs performance in October 2023. It’s a terrific performance and often the first original song that folks get introduced to. As long as you get the videos from their YT channel, you should not have any copy write infringement issues.

One of their popiest, sort of out of character songs. But its fun watching them play around. Danny rations out her solos, but they are worth the wait. Plus the omvs are typically the earliest iterations of their songs which totally evolve for the better when they take them on the road. Just make sure you stick with the pro-shot concerts on their home page, and anything you pick from Teatro Metropolitan cdmx or Pepsi center cdmx I won't let you down. There are a lot of suitable heavier songs to suggest to you, but I suspect that not only will you receive the same songs over and over, but the same specific performances as well. Here's four: "Hell You Call a Dream" live from the Pepsi Center, Mexico. "Automatic Sun", live from the recent MTV EMA's in Manchester, UK. (The two previous songs are off their latest album, as is "More"). "Disciple" from Poland Rock festival earlier this year (They were thrilled to get a good (ie. nightime) slot at such a massive event). "Evolve" from the MTV VMA's in 2023.

Yeah, they have some heavy songs but rarely have guitar solos. Dany can shred but rarely does. Dany can solo but only if they feel the song will be "better" because of it. I'm a 77yr old R&R enthusiast, but tired of shredding just to shred. It doesn't take long until it just becomes noise. Some of their best songs are soft ballads that will break your heart. And any interview of this band will make you love them more. Welcome to the Adventure!!! They are the real deal!

Oh, yeah. This is probably their most "poppy" song (but it still makes you bounce and vibe in your seat, doesn't it?). They are indeed close in age; each of them is roughly two years apart in age. Dany - singer and guitarist - is the oldest sister at 24 currently, Pau (Paulina - drummer and primary originator of songs) is the middle sister, and Ale (Alejandra, bass) is the youngest and oddly the tallest of them. All three of them play piano/keyboard as well, and are classically trained in music theory and so forth. And no, it's not because their parents made them do it... they simply all loved music from a very early age. Inspired by the video game "Rock Star", they decided quite young to become "rock stars" in their own right - and have clearly succeeded. Their viral video covering "Enter Sandman" in 2014 kick-started their career, and they've never looked back. I'll leave to the commenters below to add suggestions for "heavier" songs; it's very hard for me to pick and choose among their current offerings as everything is a bit different. They refuse to be put into any particular box - I like to say _The Warning_ are their own genera. Enjoy your journey down this rabbit hole; you are in for something special. 🤘⚡🤘

The Warning is usually a band that operates in the hard rock/soft metal area. This was where they dipped their toes into pop and as a result this song is not their fans' most favorite. They are best served live where they are actually singing (not lip syncing to a recording) and are not pretending to play their instruments. There are two very well-recorded live concerts: Teatro Metropolitan and Pepsi Center. You want heavier songs? Hell You Call A Dream, Choke (Pepsi Center) and Animosity, Money (Teatro Metropolitan). CHOKE! So powerful and heavy. The thing about Dani is that she will only put a lead part into a song if it fits perfectly. She does very few leads, but they design the songs so that they don't need it. LIVE is their superpower so stick with live versions. Deciple, Z , Animosity, Hell You Call a Dream, Automatic Sun, Queen of the Murder Scene........everything they do is great! Enjoy the ride!

With, The Warning live is the way to go. Dany is sparse with her solos. A good one to hear her is 'Z' from either the Pepsi Center concert or the Teatro Metropolitán concert.

They're way better live. Just watch the entire Pepsi Center CDMX concert. Start with Disciple and work your way through. There are no bad songs across all four of their albums. Alejandra (Ale), the bassist, is the youngest. She'll be 20 next week. Paulina (Pau) the drummer is 22 and Daniella (Dany) the lead singer/guitarist is 24. The Pepsi Center concert was to celebrate their 10th anniversary as a band (go ahead and do that math, we'll wait). Long story short, they covered Enter Sandman 11 years ago and the video went viral. Since then they've done the Ellen Show, went to Berklee, opened for Muse, Foo Fights , G&R, Def Leppard, Halestorm, among others, a bunch of festivals in Europe, dropped 4 albums, one of which is a concept album (like Tommy or The Wall). Metallica asked them to do their version of Enter Sandman for the 30th Anniversary of the Black Album. It's the lead off track of the Black List album. What else, um, they were nominated for a Latin Grammy, played at the MTV Music awards in New York as well as the European MTV Awards. And they're really just getting started.

They have done about 60 original songs and many covers, through the 11 years they have been active. So it´s hard to pick a favorite one. But of course they have done more (no pun) heavy songs than this. There where fans who left them because they believed The warning went pop with this one. But I heard the heavy riffs in the song and when it went live (TW are always best live!) it sounded a couple of tons more heavy. They constantly evolve as musicians and tweak songs. Like they did with Dust to dust (First song on their second album "Queen of the murder scene" and song number nine on the same album (Dull knifes), That performance is on their 10th anniversary show at Pepsi Center CDMX. I bet the rest of TWA are going to fill me in and give you more tips, but with these girls you can never go wrong, because they don´t write bad songs or fillers you want to skip.
