The drummer was Drumeo's Rock Drummer of the Year. They've been nominated for MTV awards and a Latin Grammy. All of them are sponsored. They've opened for the Foo Fighters, Evanescence, Guns and Roses, Halestorm (who they are really close with), Muse and many other big names. It was made for the Warning and they Slayed it, they played to about 70,000 people and the audience loved them, it was their first appearance there and at Wacken.

I recommend you watch the two TEDx presentations of 2016 and 2017 in that order, there they talk about the struggles of forming the band and about making their first album and they also play some songs covers and original music. 6:57 That's actually the drummer Pau (pronounced Pow) singing the lower harmony on that part. She is constantly singing backing vocals, except for the songs that she sings lead. Unless you are talking about when the music cuts out. that is the guitarist Dany singing the chorus in the lower octave and her voice is layered in the background singing it higher as well. When they play this song live, the bassist Ale (pronounced Ah-lay) sings this part with the lower octave chorus on her own with neither of her sisters doing any harmonies. And just FYI, when they made this video in 2021 guitarist Dany was 21, drummer Pau was 19, and bassist Ale was 16. This song, from The Warning's third album ERROR (recorded in 2020 but released in 2022), dives into the crushing weight of overwhelming emotions. The protagonist doesn't seek escape but instead surrenders to the pain, asking to "let me drown" as a way of relinquishing the struggle. According to Pau, it's about being so consumed by feelings that you start to choke on them, offering the song as a space for listeners to feel comforted in their own struggles. Dany added that the music reflects the tension and struggle expressed in the lyrics, with every riff emphasizing that emotional battle. The song is a poignant depiction of hopelessness and emotional surrender.

Pau practices singing while running on a treadmill; when you get around to watching her sing “Dust to Dust” you’ll see why it became necessary. She sings a full-on belt while beating her drums like naughty stepchildren. As far as the meaning of the song, I think it’s also a commentary on *dealing* with your emotions instead of just making a show of it. “Wear your tears like jewelry” - some people will cry dramatically, but that doesn’t mean that they’re processing their grief. And look at the woman in the water; it looks like she’s being overwhelmed and drowning, but at the end of the video, she’s *swimming* . She’s gone *down* and *through* her feelings, and now she’s ready to recover.

FYI: they played the song 26x to get all of the camera shots; the water crew were in the pool until 5:30 the following morning; Alejandra, bass, age 16 at the time was suffering from vertigo after having oral surgery a short time prior; Paulina, drummer, 19 at the time couldn't lift her arms to wash her hair. Daniela, guitar and lead singer, 21 at the time, said she had the hardest time getting the pronunciation for the lyrics, "wear your tears like jewelry" to sound right. Their omv's are high quality and well done. I do recommend watching them, though they really come alive in concert, so I recommend the Pepsi Center full concert and go song by song as listed in the video. That way, you get the set list in order instead of jumping around the concert, and you'll know which songs you've already done. 😊👍😎

Now you've started something!!! They are three sisters from Monterrey, Mexico. All classically trained pianists, and they ALL sing! They manage that full sound live, and much of that vocal layering with all three harmonising. They are a fantastic live act, with many of their songs actually sounding better live. I've been fortunate to see them live twice now, and am just waiting for the next. They've been going over 10 years now, and although hard to believe (especially live) they are ages 19 (bass), 22 (drums) and 24 (guitar and lead vocals). Excellent 1st-time The Warning reaction! The Villarreal-Velez sisters are amazing songwriters and performers from Mexico who live in Monterrey, San Pedro Garza Garcia, Nuevo Leon. Each one of their original songs is great. Their second album, "QUEEN OF THE MURDER SCENE" (2018), is a concept album. It follows a girl's journey into unrequited love; from infatuation and obsession on into stalking and murder, then madness and the fight over her soul. It is a masterpiece. It was nominated for Best Rock Album at the 2019 Independent Music Awards. Their 1st full-length LP, "XXI CENTURY BLOOD" (2017), is also very good and is packed with many great songs. The video for the title track, "XXI Century Blood", was nominated for and won many awards. Their very 1st released recordings are from their 6 song EP, "ESCAPE THE MIND" (2015); and it is amazing. Despite being courted by numerous offers from many major record labels, The Warning have stayed independent through the years; relying on crowd funding to finance their projects. They refused to give up creative control over their material ... down to even the clothes they wear on stage. After 7 months of negotiations, The Warning signed a 5 album recording contract with Lava/Republic Records/Universal Music Group in the fall of 2020. They decided to release 1/2 (6 songs) of their completed 3rd full-length album in an EP called "MAYDAY" October 8th, 2021. The entire album was released June 24th, 2022: called "ERROR". "Disciple" is my favorite track! Their 4th studio album, KEEP ME FED was released June 28th, 2024. They have released 7 singles: "MORE", "SICK", "HELL YOU CALL A DREAM", "AUTOMATIC SUN", "BURNOUT", "QUE MAS QUIERES", and "SIX FEET DEEP". The Warning do not come from a family of musicians, however, their parents are huge fans of classic rock. Both parents are professionals (recording engineer and dentist) and they enrolled their daughters into a private Catholic English Bilingual school Liceo de Monterrey, Mexico. They also started the girls with classical piano lessons at ages 6, 4 and 5 years old. Regular family functions included gathering around the TV with popcorn and watching LIVE concert dvds of legendary bands like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Queen and AC/DC. When their parents got them the video game Rock Band at ages 8, 6 and 3, they went nuts playing it obsessively. Shortly thereafter they got real instruments with lessons from professional teachers: and the rest is history. Crazy they are 24, 22 and 19 years old and have already written, arranged, and released #57 original songs. Last September they performed 2 songs at the 2023 MTV VMA's. Drummer Paulina writes around 75% of The Warning's songs. Most of her songs begin in rock ballad form; starting with a concept, then chord progression, melody and basic song structure on the piano. She may only have a verse and a chorus when she brings it before her sisters. Together they transpose each instrument's part and "rockify" the song. They complete any lyrics, bridges and any arranging, etc. making changes along the way. A 2/3 approval vote of each instrument's part and each vocal harmony before it becomes a completed song. Paulina has said if not for her sisters, her songs would be different. Both guitarist Daniela and bassist Alejandra write equally great songs; just not as many. Drummer Paulina recently won Drumeo's Rock Drummer of the Year and won Best Up and Coming Artist in Modern Drummer Magazine's recent reader's poll. They recently performed AUTOMATIC SUN at the 2024 MTV EMA's (European) in Manchester, United Kingdom. 4 days later they performed QUE MA`S QUIERES at the LATIN GRAMMYS in Miami, Florida. Both performances highlighted songs that were nominated for an award. I was fortunate enough to get to meet them after their show January 16th, 2020 at The Whisky a Go-Go in Hollywood, California, USA. I had the opportunity to meet with them 3 more times during the 10 shows I attended on their 2022 North American MAYDAY Tour and 2023 ERROR WORLD TOUR. I met them again at Fingerprints Music in Long Beach California for a CD signing on the day their new album KEEP ME FED was released (June 28th, 2024) and the morning after they performed live on the Jimmy Kimmel show. I saw them again October 8th and 9th, 2024 in Los Angeles with a meet-n-greet on the second night. Aside from their music, they are just normal, sweet, intelligent, and fun-loving young ladies who are truely grateful and endearing to their fans. As others have mentioned, the layering of Dany’s voice is her sisters harmonizing with her. All three sisters sing. Each can take turns singing lead, sometimes taking turns in the same song where each sister have moments to shine. If you watch Choke live the bassist Ale has a brief solo moment that is a show stopper!

A song from the Error album released 2022, but recorded 2020. They released singles and a LP for this album during the shutdown and waited to release the album until they could tour again. They were 20 (Dany, guitar), 18 (Pau, drum) and 15 (Ale, bass) when they wrote/recorded this album. 3 sisters from Monterrey, Mexico.

They're releasing a "new" song 12 December. It's the collaboration between Pau and Dead Poets Society and their song Hurt. Pau is the drummer. The freaking drummer and she's singing lead on that song.

​@@inalectexperiencesOther concerts that are highly recommended are teatro Metropolitan CDMX 2022, Lunario CDMX 2018 were they play from begining to end their concept album Queen of the Murder Scene sprinkled with some songs from their first album XXI Century blood in between chapters (Album is in 4 chapters) it is considered a masterpiece by fans. Album was composed when they were teenagers.

Great video! I discovered them about 6 months ago, and i haven't been this into a band since i started listening to the Beatles back in the 80s. As other people have said here, playing live is their super power. Their concert at the Pepsi Center has become the gold standard of their performances, and i would especially recommend Disciple (the OMV for this song is really cool too) and Dust to Dust/Dull knives. There's also a video of them playing Evolve at the MTV VMA that you must see. There are also videos of them playing in front of a crowd of students when they were age 9-14 that shows how good they were even back then. One thing you must eventually do is go through the album Queen of the Murder Scene, a concept album that tells an interesting story, written and performed by them when they were all just teenagers. You really picked a great new band to react to! They are one of the best (if not the best) rock bands I’ve seen for a very long time; their songwriting, musicianship, performances and stage presence is just outstanding! Their real strength is in their live performances, everything they have ever written has been crafted for live performances, the Official videos are often not as good and sometimes over produced - but still impressive. My advice for further listening is either go back to 2014 when they covered Enter Sandman by Metallica aged 9, 12 and 14 (now 26 million+ views) and progress through their KZbin channel for anything that looks interesting OR take in some of their latest performances from the Pepsi center CDMX from last year. Best place to get any video content is on their KZbin channel, it’s unlikely to get any copyright issues.

In common with many of the bands you've covered The Warning are SO much better live - they're the very definition of " feeding off the crowd " . If you stick to their concerts from Teatro Metropolitan or The Pepsi Centre for a start then you can't go wrong . BTW - all 3 ( Dani - guitar , Ali - bass and Pau - drums ) contribute to the vocals ENJOY !

Thanks for the reaction. I think you will have fun exploring The Warning: their songs, their performances, their story, and their personalities. You will receive many suggestions about which songs to view next if you want to know more about this band. It probably doesn't matter what you choose. My suggestion is "Disciple" at the Pepsi Center in Mexico, because it's in their home country, and you will see that the two eldest are both strong lead singers. When you've watched a few, maybe check out "Evolve" live at the 2023 MTV VMA's. It's a bit special. And when you want a glimpse of their "story" (and where it all began) encapsulated in one song, perhaps do a double-reaction to their cover of "Enter Sandman" in 2014 AND their re-worked version of the same song live from Teatro Metropolitan in 2022.

Nightwish fan here. I discovered The Warning about six months ago. They don't have the overall range of music, and their voices don't reach Floor Jansen's for purity and range, but their style of music, their backstory, the sound they can put out for a three piece band, probably the best I've heard since Rush, is impressive and really grows on you. Unlike the lengthy and sophisticated numbers Nightwish makes, their songs are short enough for you to remember and actually sing with them. For their youth, they have a lot of experience and have released four albums over the past seven or so years. You can't lose diving into their discography.
