Deuces are great in the snow. Drove them in the army. Out of all the trucks they where the most fun and capable. It is hard to get them stuck driving right. Just not easy steering since no power steering.

The ideal snowplow! I personally would have never considered using it as a snowplow.. but indeed, she has the potential for it, so why not 👍😃 And, you have the talent to be a youtuber. You don't come across as nervous in front of a camera, so I would suggest keeping on trucking on this road!! 👌

All chained up and ready to go. This seems to get the job done pretty good

Very nice. Coming from an old tractor trailer driver I love seeing a truck that's truly set up well.

Cool to see! Last time I saw or heard that unit was 46 years ago. I was in the PLF which is part of the Canadian reserve (army) forces. The Duce.5 would take us on weekend exercises and when it was over drop us off 5 miles from home with all our combat gear on. From there we would hitchhike and sometimes get picked up and sometimes not! My friend at the time went on to become a high ranking officer in the Canadian division of the Five Eyes.

Good video! Did I miss the cold start?
@greylockadventures70254 ай бұрын
I already had it warmed up as the battery was dead and I had to jump it. If ya scroll down through my videos a little ways there is a winter time cold start video on there.

How much ballast do you carry to get such good traction ploughing? Military surplus always used to be a lot of metal for your money.
@greylockadventures70254 ай бұрын
I don’t have any weight on it this year other then snow piled up on it. Sometimes I throw a ecology block or two on it but doesn’t really seem to need it.
@joewaggs704 ай бұрын
I planned on putting a plow on my deuce and a half before I sold it. It seems to oush the snow easily.
@greylockadventures70254 ай бұрын
Yeah, it works good. Don’t even need to use low range. Just first in high and really don’t even have to give it any throttle.
@fastst13 ай бұрын
Well, adding power steering isn't impossible, either the 5T air assist or do you have hydraulics for the plow?
@greylockadventures70253 ай бұрын
It would be nice to add power steering. I don’t think the electric over hydraulic pump that runs the plow would be the ticket for that.
@fastst13 ай бұрын
@@greylockadventures7025 oh, yah, no :) 5T air system roscommon equipment used to have kits and parts for the deuce

The lack of power steering plus the lack of a decent heater from what I remember/ Great video though
