I haven’t heard of a vinegar pie in over 10 years. You only need a little bit for this recipe. I like it a lot. I think the chess pie 🥧 is the second cousin of the egg custard pie. Both are good. Nice job, Mrs. Donna!

Cousin Donna, I am so glad that you didn't get burnt from the pie. As usual, you always get it together. When I saw the pie beginning to split I was like "Oh NO". This pie looks good as everything you bake does. I actually tried the cream cheese sweet potato pie. I added the potatoes in with the cream cheese. I am not a fan of sweet potato pie nor cream cheese, so I am like Dude #1 I passed on it. My family says it is very good though. I can tell that it is very moist. Yep, I said I was going to watch your "chess pie" video. When that pan tipped I thought ooo-kay. When that pie split then splashed I thought, "OMG." When I saw you mixing up that second pie, and your daughter was beside you dying from laughing, I lost it. I had not figured out the sound, and when you said the pie "barfed," that was the end for me. You have the patience of a saint, but you've also got the reactions, expressions, and come-back lines that are better than a stand-up comedian. Please keep that sense of humor. Okay, that was hilarious! It literally looked like your pie threw up! The look on your face was priceless. I think it made me laugh so much because, I had a similar experience with a whole pizza once. I had just baked a 26 inch Costco take n bake pizza. I had just moved it onto the cardboard round, and started removing it from the oven. When all of a sudden it slid off,did a complete flip in the air and landed on the kitchen floor, right side up!😂 Child, I got my tongs, slid it back on the board, took it to the counter for inspection, gave it a quick brush off(praise God my floors were clean), and served that bad boy for dinner!

Well well there, I haven't had a chess pie since my mother passed many many years ago. This was her go to pie and mine too for eating, lol. I know there are several ways of making this, but I don't remember corn meal going into it. I may have been focused on the eating part and not all the ingredients. I need to find her recipe since I kept all of them and compare the difference. Also great come back, you do make me smile and I love the channel.
