This is JUST how my mother used to cook it. It was one of those meals she would make to stretch for a couple days. I didn't always enjoy it as a kid. But when I grew up I would miss it and would have her cook it for me from time to time. She lives in Vegas now so we are far apart so now I have to cook it. I'm going to cook it tonight for my wife. Hi Ms. Brenda! My husband is extremely picky and will not eat onions. I love how customizable chicken and rice is, and that you (just like me) are not afraid to use powdered spices and seasonings! I’m limited to what I can put into my homemade chicken and rice, simply because he is so very picky, and I’m serious when I say, that I truly appreciate your cooking videos so very much. I actually incorporate time spent watching your cooking videos as part of my anxiety therapy! Yes, that’s right! You can add “helping people with their de-stressing coping mechanisms” to the list of ways YOU so richly contribute to humanity. So I want to take a moment to sincerely THANK YOU for helping me through some tough times! I either learn something new from you, or feel better knowing that the ways that I do things in many of my own recipes, are quite like yours! I admire your laid-back and relaxed approach to cooking, and just want to let you know what an invaluable resource your cooking videos are! I have one question, if I may (and if you’ve taken time out to read my comment/question, thanks so much!) May I ask, what are your thoughts on using Accent seasoning? She has gotten a little better since she has a family of her own now. You have really made my day. My heart is so full of joy and happiness. Yes..I read comments that I can see. Thank you Ms. Brenda Dee. I stumbled upon your channel for the first time today and saw this recipe. It almost brought me to tears because I remember eating this during my childhood with my grandmother. I remember so many of her flavors, but was too young to think to write them down. As a young child I just imagined she would be with us for a while, but time wasn’t on our side and she passed away before I started cooking. Now that I am a mother myself, I think about her in the kitchen a lot and remember the way her food tasted and smelled. My mother and Aunties are great cooks, but it just doesn’t taste actually like hers. I miss her terribly!!! Keep sharing and posting, especially for the youngsters, so they will always have a place to go and reflect.

Hello Ms. Brenda, That dish looks so good. Chicken-n-rice is a dish that goes way back generations. My mother used to prepare it. My aunt would make an oven baked chicken and yellow rice. Hello Mrs Brenda! your chicken and rice looks absolutely delicious my mother made this when i was growing up i loved it wow this brought back wonderful memories! I'm going to surprise her with this wonderful meal she would use a little turmeric in the broth also diced celery along with the onions & peppers i will take off the skin because I'm not a fan of soggy skin not even when i was a kid i would take it out of the dish lol! also I'm going to use chicken bouillon for more flavor thank you for this wonderful idea! stay blessed have a wonderful evening!!!!👍👌🔥😋💖
