So I've tried multiple chicken and dumpling recipes. Living in Mississippi all my life, I had my share of legit chicken and dumplings. But unfortunately, all the women i knew in my family who made it passed away before I started real cooking, so I've had to look up recipes on the internet. None of the recipes i have tried myself have really come close until now. Ms Brenda Dee, you done done me right. Thanks so much for this excellent recipe. I made it last night for our family and every single remarked how good it was. The only thing I added was maybe a half teaspoon of ground black pepper to the dumpling flour. I like the flavor, texture, and look with black pepper up in there.

Every blue moon I use pre packaged processed stuff but 95% of the time I cook from scratch too. I don’t even buy snacks. I make them. My husband says I do everything the hard way and I always tell him he’ll live longer the way I do it lol.

I am very happy I paused on this channel and am going to make this for sure! Thank you so very much for sharing. Looks delicious Ms. Brenda Dee! It brings back memories of certain family members who prepared this delicious dish and especially my dear, loving great grandmother.I loved watching her rolling out the dough for biscuits, cobblers etc. when I was a little girl. Thanks so much for sharing this family treasure.. This is one thing I’ve never cooked...dumplings 😊

I was looking for a recipe that looked like my Granny's and came across your recipe. I looks just like my Granny's! Everyone else tries to put carrots and peas in the recipe or the dumpling are all big and thick! you did it just right. Southern Grandmas do it best!

Now they looked so delicious. Never had them when the meat was deboned from a child until now as an adult. I’m gonna have to try it your way. When my kids hear I’m making chicken n’ dumplings they come with appetite and bowls with lids to take home.

Finally someone doing it right on KZbin! We always use the chicken broth to make the dough here in Kentucky. Everyone else online seems to use milk or buttermilk.
