Wish the playlists on your recipe page were broke down into different categories such as desserts, vegetarian.main dishes, vegetables &/or side dishes etc... so I wouldn't have to search for a recipe that appeals to me. so, far i like your style, "on some video's", informative but short & to the point..

Ok...how do you keep the top layer from crumbling like crazy after baking?
@OldBrotherCupboard Жыл бұрын
It's all about letting it cool for the right amount of time, and make sure it gets the full 55minutes in the oven so the brown sugar in your bottom and top layers caramelizes and holds everything together. :)

Most sites say you don't have to chop up dates. Also, why would you buy ones with the pits in them? More work isn't it? I bought the ones without pits.
@OldBrotherCupboard7 жыл бұрын
I had looked for pitted dates but my Supermarket only carried the ones that were whole. But it would definitely have made the prep process much easier!
@hawraa19464 жыл бұрын
No it takes few minutes to pit them

can i use digestive biscuits instead Oats???
@OldBrotherCupboard6 жыл бұрын
Hansanie Dissanayake I’m not sure about Digestive Cookies , but some gluten free substitutes for Oats that could work are Ground Flax, Rice Bran, or Quinoa Flakes. Ground Flax would be the closest texture to Oats.

We don't use American cups in the UK, it would be so useful if you also gave gram weights! Have to find another recipe now... SIGH!
@OldBrotherCupboard Жыл бұрын
Sorry! I'm sure there must a simple conversion app for your phone perhaps.

@@OldBrotherCupboard Bless you for replying! Forgive my moan - thought I should give some honest feedback for us Europeans. Wish we did use the US cup system, it would be a lot simpler!
@OldBrotherCupboard Жыл бұрын
@@glamdolly30 I never imagined my videos would even reach the UK, so I really do thank you for finding me and giving me the great feedback. Honestly here in Canada we also use grams, my Great Nanny unfortunately did not lol

@@OldBrotherCupboard Well you're clearly one of the good guys, so I will take another look at your lovely (and wittily named) foodie channel! YES you have reached the UK, and deservedly so. I think your great granny was wise to favour no-nonsense cups over grams. So much simpler. If only my culture had done the same!
