Your awesome! I also did my first Camino23, 59 years, Cancer, Cpap, 320 pounds, and by myself. Yep, I made it and return to do another Sept 2024. God is good

I loved this video, in particular the way you stress the importance of respecting an individual's Camino. No two people are the same, so no two Caminos will be the same. Your enthusiasm, recommendations and honesty about the tough parts made seriously interesting viewing. Thank you!

I use a CPAP and it’s so fantastic to hear someone else tell it for real. You are an inspiration. I also feel I don’t need to start at beginning and also can take various modes of transport mix it up with walking all depends what I can cope with. Again thanks for the honesty a great video. All the best from Australia 🇦🇺

Congratulations Peregrino! What a wonderful achievement,and to share with your son. It amazes me what we can accomplish;when we’re brave enough to try. I did my second Camino this year at 69 years old. I was a bit nervous about it. I went slower when I needed to. It was great. I’m already thinking about it again. I wouldn’t be surprised if you do it again!

When I was struggling in the early stages, I talked with many other peregrinos who were on the second, third,, seventh caminos, and I thought "Oh, my gosh, there's no way I'm doing this again!" But now, after finishing, I'm thinking that I could absolutely see myself doing it again. I won't go so far as to say I definitely will - there are just too many parts of the world to see and only so much time left - but if given the chance (esp. if my wife wants to go), I'd go back in a heartbeat.

I appreciate your tour and all the modes of execution . Isn’t it about contemplation and expansion? It does test the endurance while allowing participants to consider reasonable options. You are a winner on your personal journey. You can be proud. It’s an inspiring account. Thanks for sharing. My first experience was reading Shirley McClains account while we toured a bit of Spain. Since then I’ve followed maybe a half dozen other pilgrimages along that trail/ path. You are in good company.

La Fuente in Ligonde is amazing! I served for a week there in 2016. We cooked and were there to support pilgrims every night. No reservations so if you want to stay there be early and get on the list. You won’t regret it. Thanks for your inspiring video!

One thing I learned doing the Camino was drink electrolytes as well. It’s hot and you sweat out so much. They carry you through it. It’s a beautiful trip. We are all challenged on it. You do it the way you need to do it. It’s all good. A beautiful experience. I miss it. You do form small hiking families. Don’t always walk with everyone but you end up at the end of the day together for drinks and great food. PS Burgos was beautiful. We took a zero and toured the Cathedral. Gorgeous.

I so appreciate what you did. I did my first Camino in 2014, I did partial Caminos in 2016, 2018 and 2024. Medical issues were part of my Caminos too but I will never forget the good and the bad and I reccomend it to everyone.

First of all: 61 is NOT old. Secondly, pay close attention to the thrombosis in your leg. I had the same problem (2 times) and after tests it turned out that I have Factor 5 Leiden which makes my blood clot faster. This is hereditary and my brother and sister also have it (both had a pulmonary embolism). So GET TESTED. I am 69 and am going to do the Camino by bike starting from my home (+- 2400 km). Cycling is much better for the blood circulation than walking. I used to walk a lot and long distances (17x Dodentocht in Bornem, 100km). I still regularly walk 20 to 30 km but more than 5 days in a row would not be wise with my condition. Thirdly and not least: respect for what you did. Keep moving (walking and cycling), you will feel younger and you will do the next Camino WITHOUT the bus.
@holloffamevideosamples625326 күн бұрын
Indeed they did a check on me, and I do have Factor 5 Leiden (and I notified relatives about it). And about 15 years ago, I had a pulmonary embolism. So I expect to be on blood thinners the rest of my life. But I do try and live a pretty active life, so it's not something I worry about. I pay attention to it, but not overly worried.

Did you cheat? Well, yes. You shipped your bag ahead, biked, rode horses, taxis , and the bus. Be honest. Did you sacrifice in the name of Christ, or did you go on a vacation?

horses, donkeys 🫏 and boats 🚤 are not considered „cheating“ ps: about the bus 🚌 theme you are completely right for me real cheating is luggage transport
