As a young lad working in a garage one of these came in but in Estoril blue(the guy was a offshore scaffolder, so it sat in the corner of the workshop for about two weeks) and everyday i would come in and stare at it. Fat arches, dials in the middle of the dash, the quad pipes. Just made it look so cool.

Well by got rid.. they’re in the warehouse. But if you both lusted after a set of wheels and couldn’t afford them at the time then it’s only right to fulfil that dream. Not to say the OEM wheels aren’t a great design though.

my mom bought one of these a decade ago, ive just gotten my license and ive been able to drive it. its silver exterior and imola red/black interior unfortunately its only the S52 engine but its still decently nimble

Nice, I have the s50 m coupe, there's only around 450 left from the original 800 odd. Mine has been a garage queen and only done 10k since 2004 so trying to sort it to be as good as it was. So far in the last 1500 miles I've changed 2 O2 sensors, inlet manifold gasket, braided clutch hose, fan and clutch, currently looking at vanos solenoid seals. But man it goes like stink when you wind it up. Came back from Norfolk, in the rain and second gear just spins up, think third is sketchy and will spin in the wet. Crazy, great. mad and weird cars, got to love em..... enjoy yours it looks lovely.

That’s bloody cool. The styling is quirky but it’s aged well and seems to be getting cooler. The LM’s suit it to a tee 👍 They’re bloody tiny compared to modern stuff. Chap on PH has a gorgeous red one.

I remember when I was 21 (long time ago) and these was so much cheaper to insure than the E46 M3 because less of them on road less of them get into accidents, was enough to convince my friend to get one over the E46

you probably know this, but the sunroof delete on the s54 cars are extremely rare, so awesome buy if that was an accident. Also a shorter diff helps these a lot, I have a 3.91 and 6speed swap in mine , vs stock 3.12 and it rocks

The s52 is a fantastic motor. Its more reliable then the s54 and much better for daily driving. The s52 is also much easier to build should you want more power.

The steering rack from the 1.8 4cylinder z3 is perfect swap, highly recommend a set of coilovers some fresh bushings all around and a short shift kit with clutch delay valve delete. For starters 🙂

Those seats look very similar to Vaders from the E36 M3, what a great purchase, can't wait to hear that intake. Edited to say, interesting comment about the steering rack, in the States we used to put a Z3 rack in an E36 as an upgrade.

Quite a lot smaller than a Vader though! Cockpit is tiny, Z3 1.9 rack is an upgrade, Z3M has a slower rack.

Very happy memories for me with the Z3M. I did work experience as a teenager at Sytner with the Alpina tech. He took me out in a Dakar Yellow Z3M on my first day for a shakedown. Needless to say it's a sideways ride i'll never forget. Great purchase Imran, will it be a keeper?

Great video Imran/Bilal maybe both your hairs will grow back ,LOL, Coupe is a style i always liked, I don't believe that I saw more than handful here in Winnipeg, I remember seeing 2 silver and 1 black and i believe the black one had the S54 engine it sure sounded sweet running through the gears , 325-350 hp is plenty for these cars , they weren't that heavy it is all about the experience not 0-150 mph, a great cruise, i can hardly wait for the intake Bilal is going to do a one off for this car, 20p says he is gonna do it it was in his eyes, this car is a keeper and i know the feeling of regret of selling my first GT and it was such a nice car great cruiser and tourer 👍

Loved my MCoupe.....especially after Steve Guglielmi (Guglielmi Motorsport) fettled the chassis on it. Stock springs with bilstein B6 dampers and some proper geo makes it a much more composed and less hairy arsed car. I'd love another.

Just make sure that rear axle panel ain't cracking . Common as hell on these . If it's OK then check to see if it's been done under warranty at any point . If it hasn't i would highly recommend you get the box section in the rear axle panel filled with resin to strengthen that panel .too much power for the rear end . I remember doing these replacements when I worked for bmw 15 years ago . E46 was another common vehicle with that same problem . Very good buy tho Imran congratulations on your purchase. Car looks awesome. 👌

I have Eventuri air intake and evolve remap on my E46 m3, for first time I got to see the geniuses behind. PS : I would only improve the way air gets fed to the intake some sort of long neck tube to the bottom of the car to avoid getting hot air from engine bay

It’s definitely more of just a car to Bilal at this point and you can see that you’re more hyped about it. I have lusted after the z3m coupe for the last couple years. Although I haven’t driven one… but I have driven a Supra and thought it was okay. Because of the long bonnet and what feels like sitting in the back. The steering didn’t feel right. What I mean is feel immediate. at most turns at 7/10 pace it felt like I turned the steering and then saw the hood of the car go in that direction. Does the z3m have a better rack or does it feel same?

Pretty sure the body dimensions are exactly the same as they are on any Z3 coupe, my 2.8 is just as wide as my mates Z3M. Looks fantastic on the LM's anyway.
