Old Forester 1910 and Old Forester Single Barrel Barrel Proof

In October of 1910, a fire on the bottling line caused Old Forester to re-barrel mature whiskey that was ready to be bottled. Old Forester 1910 is the fourth and final expression in the Whiskey Row series and pays homage to this event as a doubled oaked whiskey.
This Old Forester Single Barrel Barrel Proof is a Beastmasters pick and comes in at a whopping 132.4 proof from wharehouse J, floor 8. Both are beautiful expressions. Find out which is better in Glenn and Charlie's opinion.

Very interesting review as I thought for sure the single barrel would win by a mile. I never thought to compare the barrel strength to the 1910 due to the proof difference but I'll have to do my own research. Cheers!

Great review. I love everything Old Forester, but 1910 is my favorite. I was able to find and buy a bottle of Single Barrel Barrel Strength. Saving for a special occasion.

Don't you think judging a higher proof buy one sip is a lil bit quick ? I have both and the 1920 also and find that higher proofs a couple sips

I absolutely hear what you're saying. I've had that Barrel Proof for a while and enjoy it. There are flavors that come through on the 1910 are just more complex. Granted, it's a double oaked...but the Barrel Proof Single Barrels are still some of the best values in the market currently (when you can find them).
