Found one for retail $81.00 last week just siting on the top shelf of my LLS. Mine is at 128.4 proof. Went in to buy WR double oaked and as I was walking out, I caught the green label from the corner of my eye and did a double take. Turned around and went back to the counter and said, I want that. Walked out a happy happy man. Going to open it at my daughters wedding soon.

I was literally seconds too late in getting one of these bottles from my liquor store at retail, walked in as the guy in front of me picked up the last bottle on the shelf. Considered choosing violence in hopes I could hide his body and get out there store with my prize before they discovered this man tied up like a scooby doo villain, but alas I thought better of it.

Got two of these at a Liquor Barn in KY. Was standing in the front looking at the allocated stuff when one of the staff walked up with a case and started putting them out right in front of me. I went slack jawed and bought two. Can confirm they are amazing.

JD Rye mashbill is 70% rye, 18% corn, 12% malted barley. Close but not the same.

Picked one up today in Richmond Va. got the limited release text ran out the door to the closest store had to grab the Stagg Jr since it was available then flew to the next closest store in carrytown. They had this beauty still available. It’s an amazing pour and probably the best rye I have now.

Is it just me or are the glens getting.larger? Fast forward to January where they will be chugging out of Folgers coffee cans and straight arm bracing themselves on the table in front of them leaning awkwardly towards the camera. Dan will slowly raise his head, give it a quick shake , focus his eyes at the camera and whisper...."marshmallowy" then collapse out of the camera shot....annnnnd scene!

It might be a shameful purchase at this price but I bought mine at $150. Went home, tried it and immediately went back to buy the other 2 bottles they had. My opinion they are worth it. Definitely no more than what I paid though. One bottle down and scared to open another because they are so good. Cheers 🥃

Old Forester Rye has a super unique mash bill. I don’t think it’s the same that JD uses. I hope to track this bottle down or even a sample one day. Old Fo is the best
