I rannnnnn here to defend the older gays against the “are you jealous of younger gays” question but they took the words out of my brain. I don’t think it’s fair to ask older gays that, because a lot of them were robbed of the experience/ support younger gays have. It’s natural to be jealous of that. I want to preface this by saying I don't mean this in an "All Lives Matter" kind of way: I also think it's perfectly natural for older people to be jealous of younger people in general. Older women being jealous of younger women, older men being jealous of younger men, only because even with everything you're gaining, the feeling of invincibility goes away. I'm slowly creeping towards middle age and even though the circumstances of my life are getting better, there's just something about being young that you can never get back. So, for older queer people to be jealous of younger queer people is something I think is perfectly normal and it doesn't have to be a toxic thing at all if you acknowledge it

The gay agenda was used by the religious right as a way to demonize LGBTQ+ individuals, and their acceptance. It originated from a homophobic video and has been used in all sorts of arguments. Usually based off of the "slippery slope" that LGBTQ+ positive laws would lead to incest, bestiality, and pedophilia. It is also used in other countries. The gay/trans panic argument allows the use of violence and murder against members of the LGBTQ+ community, because of unwanted sexual advances. It is a plea of temporary insanity. This argument is not outlawed, and it has been used to deflect hate crime charges, and give those who use it lighter punishments. This includes cases where the victim was beaten to death.
@firstlast89822 жыл бұрын
i'm pretty sure everyone knows the origin, its not like its still not used in that way but it just sounds ridiculous now BECAUSE of the fact that we talk about it in this way. Sex is not on my radar with people- its something I *might* consider one day, but really have next to no temptation nor drive for. This goes for both Men and Women. So assuming that I was not dating at all, I would *still* be ace. Not looking for sex from *either*. Just as someone who is gay might not my in a relationship, but that still does not make them any less gay. I have no idea where you are getting it from that ace spectrum people aren't lgbtq?? Like- why exactly do you think this? I just don't know how it doesn't make sense to people?? You don't have an interest in sex is broader than just having an interest in one. That applies across the board which at the very least makes it a closer comparison to someone who is Pan- Would you tell a pansexual person that they aren't *really* pan because they happen to be dating a single gender and just assume that they are now either gay or het based on their current partner?? Seriously. Explain this thought process to me and why its so exclusionary? What are the stipulations here???

I think what would have been better is that after the LGBTQIA+ abbreviation significance, they could’ve explained what each means, particularly Aspec since that definition was wrong. They described non-binary more by my knowledge.

Homies how hard is it to understand? No attraction and opposite sex attraction are 2 completely different things. If u're referring to love\affection omance that ace people might experience, then it's a whole different topic and has nothing to do with term defining sexuality😤
@lilrobodoge67492 жыл бұрын
@@Lilian040210 English is not my first language so I'm not sure what you mean, but if you are asking what i ment when i said "straight or not", i ment those who are on the ace spectrum and are more or less straight. Maybe demisexual or aceflux and straight. And they are all still valid (regardless of romantic interest).

This was a very lovely video! But I do think that asexual bit was handled poorly. Aces and aromatic folks are a big part of our community. Plus queer is a very important word and definition! Very interesting perspectives

Im in the community & just being ace does not mean you’re in LGBT+. Ace the basic term is non sexual. That has nothing to do with the lgbt . Just personally someone is asexual meaning they don’t have sexual relationships more attracted to a person by their mind.
@ItsssSnow2 жыл бұрын
I think thats what their applying!! But queer is definitely a part of it so im not sure.
@geneventide53142 жыл бұрын
@@ItsssSnow you’re actually wrong about that one. Asexual and aromantic people are a part of the lgbt+ community. They always have and always will. So please don’t be exclusionary it’s not very kind. I urge you to understand this.

@@ItsssSnow Asexuality deviates from the norm, so it is a part of the LGBTQ+ community. They face bigotry as well, and sadly it's within the community itself

Love waking up to people saying aspec is basically cishet and 1) ignoring all the queer/trans people who identify on the ace and aro spectrums and 2) invalidating asexual people who may also be cishet and heteroromantic, because we clearly don't feel enough invalidation for our sexuality on our own /s

It’s my opinion that the bare minimum for being in the community and a good ally to the other members is making an effort to understand their struggles so we can all support each other. Especially intersex and asexuality. The amount of people who have no idea what those are or what they may go through is unacceptable to me. Everyone is still learning, it’s the being close off to learning and indifference to others that upsets me.

Young gays really do have it a hell of a lot better than us older ones did. Even as 'recent' as 22 years ago when I started high school, there wasn't a single out gay person. I never had any close friends I felt comfortable enough speaking to about stuff like that because it just wasn't spoken about like it is today. Teachers were fairly homophobic in general so it wasn't even as though I was in an environment I felt I could possibly be open even if I plucked up all the courage in the world. My first message to younger gays is do not put yourself down because there's already plenty of people out there that will do it for you. Enjoy your youth and don't waste it chasing things you'll achieve later in life. And finally- pick up where we left off and continue the fight to make the world a safer and more loving place for the future gays.
