I remember years ago at a Harley shop watching a guy jump and jump trying to get his bike (I think it was a pan) to start. I saw what the problem was after a couple tries. When he was tired, I said let me try. One kick and it lit right up for me! What I saw was his clutch was slipping and his heavy kicks were not getting it through a compression stroke. I pushed it easier through and blam away it went. My Servicar 45 was easy to start, as long as you remembered to back the timing down. If not, a straight leg kick would put you up on the bars.

Very cool ! I’ve owned 13 H-D’s since the 1970’s . Most had kickers . I’ve also had two knee surgeries . 😂

That was one of Red Riders easy starts , man I've seen her kick that shovel for ages trying to get it to start , she got it all sorted out in the end though.

I’m 70 and still ride my 53 pan. My son asked me “ dad what you going to do if you can’t kick it over?” I said “ I’ll pay some young buck $20 to kick it for me” 😂

I would love to have an old shovel head or pan head. But I don’t know if my knees could handle it anymore. I’ve already had the left knee replaced

If you understand the Harley engine you usually get them to start first kick at least when my Panhead is tuned properly it does . And I have proven so with more than one Harley.

When did it become an accomplishment to successfully kick start a bike? If it doesn’t start in two kicks there is something wrong. Of course I am past 65 and haven’t kicked anything for almost 24 hours so I may have lost it.

Avant de mettre en ligne, il vaudrait mieux vérifier ou être certain de ses compétences....en fait de Shovel, il y a beaucoup d'Ironhead et aussi des Pan et Knuckle...il faudrait peut-être revoir le titre. J'aurais pu mettre un doigt baissé cette fois-ci mais je n'ai pas voulu être désagréable....

What's with all the shorts and tennis shoes? A bad move with no foot or leg protection, first time you go down and leave the bike those keds are going to come off and you'll have the hide burnt of your heels in short order.
