1. The provinces and Irish culture: The Story of Mac Da Thó’s Pig,
Bricriu’s Feast
The literature of Ireland is the oldest non-classical literature in Europe. It provides a window on Celtic life in a country which, because it never came under the control of the Roman Empire, preserved the traditional warrior society much longer than other Celtic areas. This course will look at texts from the Irish Heroic Age which clustered around its central epic, the Táin Bó Cúailnge, or Cattle-Raid of Cooley, and the heroic and doomed figure of Cúchulainn, the great Ulster hero.

It’s so different to modern Irish, but a few words remain similar. Like Tairbh, Meisce, scéal, bó, muc.

I'm a McCullough so I research both Irish and Scottish McCullough's branch and found the Scottish branch is from the 3 Colla Uail brothers, I found researching the word Ulster saying it's meaning is lost in history but I see a little word play with the meaning of ulster being an overcoat or a cloak to envelops or conceals a cloak of secrecy. Could Ulster have a hidden meaning, the way I see it is the folks living there had much knowledge and the Irish word for knowledge is iúl, dropping the "i" giving you Ul and the word "Ster" is but a vowel from "Star" meaning they had "Knowledge of the stars" and much is out there to prove that fact the Irish's knowledge of the stars and the heavy usage of 7, this story starting out with a dog, must be the one Setanta slewed, setanta meaning 70 or look at as "Set" setting Sun/Son or death "An" or dawn of the Sun/Son, rebirth "Ta" or Day, High Day of the Sun/Son, The King. They call the Dog Star, Sirius Canicula, puppy dog or a "Whelp" as in Lugh's Hound Whelp or should we say Lugh/Orion and that Sirius drops below the horizon for 70 days returning with the season floods and Seacht Irish Seven and the word Cait meaning Cat and Lugh's hound whelp Failinis; Feline and the Set; Seti form the word Seven which is Set, Seth god of Chaos or the the oldest Goddess Bast; Bastet who had a Lion/Cat head and there is the Apkalu Ap being liken to Mac Mc son and one of the oldest forms of Colla and that gives you your Keen sight the Macula Lutea beginning with Lu and Tea or the goddess of sight Theia LU-Tea a golden spot or ball macula; Irish Ball or Macalla Irish for Echo, something created in the past waited for in the present for it's future return. The Apkalu are the seven wise sages but it is a Shepherd and his Hound that guards the cave, entrance to the underworld, you may of heard the claim Cuchulainn was Jesus, does that mean I'am related to Jesus yes it does, that is the way my father-in-law spells his name, a little joke but if you look hard enough you'll find Jesus is associated with the Moon and my father-in-law's name is DeLuna meaning "of Moon", did I married the daughter of Jesus, on the planet Venus you find a weeping Eye in a Pyramid shaped crater named Jeanne the name of my wife, Ha Ha Ha, located 40 N. Lat. 331 Long., when the Sun rises with Sirius for 40 days is when the call it Canicula and 3+3+1=7 and 40X7=280 the number of days it takes to create a child and Venus forms the crescent while creating the pentagram, retrograding for 40 days every 77 weeks where called Venus the pLOUGH, plow the Boar, McCullough "Son of the Hound of Ulster Son the Boar" and the act of a serpent regrowing it's skin is seen as rebirth and the call it Slough and Lough means a Body of water and the serpent is a symbol for Wisdom.
