This is a long time ago now. For those who think I was being condescending, it was all an act. My role was playing a guy that takes a helicopter out to locations and interviews unlikely guests. My thought was, could I get him to answer the most important questions in such a short amount of time and let that be, rather than the typical showing of footage with voice over narration. No disrespect intended toward him or his chosen way of living.

ExRhodesian I have noticed, for the most part, it has kept the "trolls" on here from claiming he is just mooching off of working folks for his way of life. More power to him! Creature comforts arent always the dream...You simply cannot buy a certain kind of freedom like this man has. This is supposedly a "free" country, but we make ourselves slaves to commercialism and the banks, always lining somebody elses pockets. Im glad to see that this man is able to spend his "golden years" living free, his kind of free.

Some of my best times was when I lived in the desert or in National Forest. Helps to have a car but I did it without for awhile also, nature is awesome, no one to constantly telling you what to do, NO worries about a bunch of bills and bs. I used to hunt gold and gems to cash in for a bit of money. When gold goes way up I wouldn't be surprised to find people digging even small quantities to survive. Man chicken places throw away so much food it's insane!, just peel off the fried part and boil it for stew to kill off bacteria and you are good to go!

Social Security is not charity, it's YOUR money that was taken out of YOUR paycheck for all the years that you worked. If he does not get SS then he probably worked "under the table" his entire life and therefore he does not have any SS due to him.
@castaway1231009 жыл бұрын
Paul Moe No, it's invested in government and public bonds and stock and it is also loaned to the Federal Reserve so they can loan it out again and get it back with interest. Regardless, you are allowing your money to be taken out of your paycheck with a promise to pay back in the future with interest. People who payout today will be paid when they retire. If you don't want SSI then don't have it taken out of your paycheck. That way you won't get any when you retire, and you won't have to worry that anyone is paying for you when you are too old to work. Sound good? Great!

What the hell people's replies as if social security has been around for ever! Fact is people lived without all that shit for 10k years and they relied in their knowledge and others to get on with living. What you have today is people working to pay taxes and others to do it for them. To some extent more then they need too! It's bit like the next flat screen TV will make your life any better or paying with credit cards will help you as you just end up working to send your paycheck to some loan company! That's not self reliant, that's insanity!

Okay? I want to interrupt. I think that this man is living as free as an American should live. I don't think that a government or a polyp political party should be able to have complete control over anyone. We have fallen into this political government take care of us trap. We are free Americans hello people are you still listening. If a man wants to live on the side of the road in a cardboard box then that's his free right. Why believe in the system? Whereas it says 9 to 5 jobs with benefits for you. 30 year mortgage home for you to be in debt 30 years. Or more. Or until your elderly and sick and cannot pay your house anymore. Lose your house go on the system income. Be put in a shelter and forgot about. Because that's the majority of what the Americans are going through. So why believe that you have to work I mean this guy doesn't even work yeah so he eats out of dumpsters so what I seen worse. All you so-called free American zombies shop at grocery stores shop at book stores. Shop at stores they want you to shop at because that's what you watch on TV. You ever notice you get so bored with life you don't understand why you can't figure it out? Is because you don't go to church you don't read your Bible and you watch too much TV and your on the social media too much. You're worried about everybody else except yourself. Ya, i'd say you were a bit aggressive with the guy, sounded like you were annoyed by him, though you're out there bothering him. Clearly everyone feels the same way, so you might take notice. I appreciate the video, thanks a lot.

Right, he's completely self sufficient. He owes nobody and nobody owes him.....until he gets sick or breaks a leg, then he limps into a hospital and gets fixed up on somebody else's dime.

i do not know who made this , but it is interesting , but the pointed questions should be at the person asking all the questions , he becomes very uncomfortable when the guy reveals his work or should is say , leasure ethecs , , i have no problem there , the path of least resistance when you can , not an issue with me , but whats up with people stuck on the idea they must remain on the tread wheal.
