Wow this is an amazing point I never would’ve thought of! Since the Z-fighters are so used to having the dragon balls around, it’s crazy to think of Goku not using the dragon ball to retain his youth like so many villains, and accepting father time taking his toll on him. It might give us a different kind of look inside the mind of Goku (and maybe the saiyans in general when they start growing too old).

I think this is something someone needs to explore. Goku as a character to me at least has gotten stale and for me this would progress his character and force the story forward. And this is the direction GT should've gone considering the whole pitch of that anime was Goku needs to be weaker.

If Goku does become old, then that would mean he's already accepted it, since he has the option not to become old with the Dragon Balls. Gokus struggle would be trying to accept his decision to live a natural life, even though he watches his sons and pupils face exciting adventures and struggling to accept his decision or change his circumstance.

Nah, being vulnerable makes him far more compelling, we know him an like him when he's young and invincible but when he's older and more vulnerable we can connect to him more, there are higher stakes because we know he might not walk away from his next fight but he goes on regardless, it takes him from badass to legend

There's only one problem with that. Goku would literally outlive everyone, including his own offspring. Remember in the Buu saga? Elder Kai gave Goku his life essence. Kais can live for millennia

The problem with this is that you said 30-40 years this would also make all the half saiyans save for bra all 40+ meaning they are all over the hill as well. If saiyans don’t start their rdecline til they are around 70 or 80 and humans start their decline around 30 this means that all the half saiyans should start there decline some where around 50. Not to mention Gohan waste more and more of his potential each day he doesn’t train so he could theoretically be closer to the human decline age than the saiyans.

I feel like at the very least if he does get old and get weaker. The weakest he'll ever get is super Saiyan 2 around the time he fought Majin Vegeta. But I feel like if he further develops his super Saiyan God ki. he'll be along with Vegeta one of the slowest aging characters. and that's only if neither one of them becomes the God of destruction.

Well it confirmed that goku and vegeta stay young till 80 so i pretty sure that there going to out live chichi and bulma(if bulma stops using the dragon balls to make her 5 years younger) and maybe out live there son because there half human so maybe they don't get that long life expand(maybe don't know my math sucks) so it would be cool to see and world with goku and vegeta being the last of the Z fighters and have the plot like logan like they have clone daughters or son and they have to protect them from frieza cause he created them idk just an idea(sry for grammer)

Goku Black saiyans basically have the same life span as humans they just maintain their fighting prime for longer then age rapidly much like Asian women who look great from 20-59 but as soon as they hit 60 all those years come full force

It would probably be just all the exertion powerups/forms so Kaioken, SSJ, SSJ2, SSJ3, his by then most recent acquisition of SSJ4, and SSB & SSBk. SSG i don't see as needing much to activate and UI runs of how much you can empty the mind so he'd probably just have those two. It's funny, since SSG makes one younger and could have him regain his prime temporarily, SSG goku would most likely end up being stronger than UI goku and UI would have better reflexes so it 'd be cool to see him switch between then on the fly like manga vegeta

I love the idea but, something that might contradict what you said that I remember it was in Dragon Ball super. That Vegeta said sayings stay younger longer, so they can fight, so even when they're 80 years old they'll be like in their Prime...... So with that statement it couldn't just be 30 or 40 years, would have to be even longer, just saying but still love the idea old man Goku

I don’t know if this can happen. Buu saga the old kai gave goku his life and the old kai said he had a few thousand years left of life. So the story of old Goku can happen IF the writers decide to ignore what happen with old kai.

what I liked about logan was xavier saying yes mom and showing him took his pills and logan being a dad to his "daughter" especially when it comes to the quarter ride scene. now I would like to see goku old but I would love to see him as more of a great grandpa or grandpa and find out piccolo beat him to the punch. Vegeta as a grandparent and dealing with an aging bulma vanity and all. Also goku should be fat (weve seen how he eats also if he did crap the bed could the bed handle it?) also lets talk about gokus brain damage. I dont think this would happen, because Goku now has a technical healing factor due to having God Ki and as a technical divine being (divine as in power) they don't age due to this healing factor, plus saiyans live longer than humans, or keep their youth longer, plus he would keep his shape for a while due to being in such a great shape

I'm not even a minute in this video but goku is definitely not 40, remember he died and in total he's been dead for 8 including when he died in the saiyan saga, common misconception but i doubt his body will continue to age in the afterlife, so i would assume he's actually in his 30s.

I vehemently hate this idea. I like the concept of characters getting older and becoming more limited along with other experiences that come with it, but it depends on the character. Thor, Wolverine, Spiderman, Captain America, and many others sure. However for Goku, I honestly like the idea of him simply growing more and more in power and staying that way. To me, Goku is a representation of going beyond one's limits regardless what the challenge is. I feel that Goku's character in a way should stay immortal. His purpose is to continuously keep climbing higher and higher. I have similar feelings for Vegeta as well. I also admit that I don't like the fact that these characters have grown their power to levels of the gods, but they're impaired by something like age. It's like how they're limited to breathing oxygen and would die in the vacuum of space. I feel that they should just continue to grow and grow despite how shallow that sounds. I do think that the Dragonball franchise should dedicate time into other characters and greatly reduce Goku's showing time for a while. Maybe have him go away to train somewhere else while everyone gets their times to shine. Have him die in a fight against a really powerful opponent and have him train in the otherworld. In my opinion, those ideas are better than for someone like Goku to just simply get old and weaken. It doesn't fit his character in my opinion.

Order Power Asgardians in Marvel are shown to age and are not immortal. Odin got very old and went slightly mad. They don’t die like mortals do. They get somewhat reincarnated. There’s also comics of Thor that’s elderly but still quite powerful. Thor has his own thing going.
