The camera work reminded me of Jordan Peele's new movie "Us" based off the trailers. I do love the song and considering it is based around having patience of hoping to make it within the Rap Industry as a Lyricist. People constantly say that that you're underrated and going to blow up soon (I remember that from "The Perils" song you released) which had nothing but positive feedback. But "Stop Shooting" and "See Me Now" didn't gain as much attention despite having a great context behind them with meaning. Personally my favorites was "Sunday Saxon" because the Lyrics speak a great tale of regrets but trying to teach someone your mistakes so they do not repeat them. Or perhaps it was a message to yourself when you were younger. Then "Off my Mind" was amazing! The Lyrics have the right amount of insecurity and anguish." Mind over matter, but does it matter if I do not mind..." was personally my favorite lyric because of complacency and not really wanting to care about what stresses you out. This music video seems kind of like "Sunday Saxon" in the way that you are talking with or at the child while feeling isolated within the glass walls as an archaic fortune teller machines you see at Carnivals. The line "Act like I haven't heard a thing except what I said. It sounds like you heard the song except what I said" sticks out directly because you faced the camera talking to the audience like "pay attention to what I say, it's important". I believe the messages behind your songs are amazing and I hope you continue making these videos and songs because I love the lyricism and the older style you utilize due to the fact that it is more relatable. A good beat and Lyrics that make you think that doesn't flex materialism; what more can you want?

Well said
@GreyWandererXD5 жыл бұрын
Thank you, I personally been following Old Man Saxon since his Ted Talk about the true power of Hip-Hop and Rap if it is based around realness over whatever is appealing. Which is true, most songs of the genre that I listened to what E-Dubble until he died in 2014, he was extremely real within his lyrics, but never blown up. Then you get music publishers such as Strange Music who publishes Krizz Kalicko who is absolutely real with his lyrics but also makes it abundantly clear that all of his songs are jam packed with emotions most of the time that can be hard to relate to unless you have similar mental disorders. But then there is Old Man Saxon, who makes music with the right amount of relatability and emotion that is displayed by word usage and how amazingly he weaves the words together. I know the general consensus after "the Perils" is that he is going to blow up...but we didn't really stay in-tune for his next two releases which is a saddening truth. But I thoroughly enjoyed all of his works thus far and want to continue showing support to him!
@anthonyyanohays97065 жыл бұрын
This comment means so much. It's so refreshing to hear these sort of interpretations to the videos. You nailed it with the isolation behind glass walls comment. And noticing little details like what we did with the "Act like I haven't heard a thing" line. I know that the viewership doesn't have monster numbers but it's so encouraging to know that there are people paying attention to these details and digging the videos.
@GreyWandererXD5 жыл бұрын
@@anthonyyanohays9706 Thank you, you could say my interpretations were on point, but I really loved the lyrics and how the video was produced so I wanted to show my appreciation as I suppose he feels underappreciated for the hard work he has done thus far. As a small KZbinr myself, I can connect with that. My projects are not as artistic as his or meaningful by no means, but getting an audience that listens is the hardest thing to do unless you have some trends. I am glad Old Man Saxon refuses to do what the rest of the industry does and keeps his music relatable.

I love this song: people from the outside congratulating you on achieving a dream when you're still dissatisfied and striving for more. It reminds me of when I've gotten new jobs that I don't really want to work and everybody is excited for me except myself. It also kinda fits with the all powerful fortune teller that can only use his powers for other people. Thank you for another amazing song and video Saxon. Also, I wonder if this is supposed to be a continuation of the story in Sunday Saxon or if its just the same kid in a new world? Keep doing what you're doing!!
