09:35 - word. And: "To understand that there is beauty in the mundane...I realised that the more personal the story, the more universal; that the more terrifying something is to say, the more impact it will have; and maybe the more resistance you have to something, the more you should pay attention to it". Real talk man, I hope to see the explosive creative flow of this mindset in the the music industry (and more)

The song from Old Saxon that I hum at work is Sunday Saxon, "It's gone be good, it's gon be fine, one of these days imma shout, ain't nun to worry bout," it's like finding this part of my heart, being sung to me, this humility and faith in tomorrow. And he makes me feel like hip hop isn't corny, one sided, and detrimental.

Awesome inspirational talk Old Man. If you're still having problems with your students who won't talk about their own stories, assign them to talk about someone else's. Sometimes, remembering and sharing a hard story of someone you love brings you in touch with your own.

Once again, you have inspired me (and countless thousands of millions of others, too, I am sure). I am a fan ever since "R + F" and the documentary about your year living in the car. I love your music, your originality, your heart. I have been bingeing on Old Man Saxon everything since the day I found out you existed. The world needs more souls like you. I can't help but gush. You make me happy. You lift my spirits. I am clinically depressed and suicidal. Nothing and no one has lifted my spirits in I don't know how long. It isn't one song or a particular phrase you say - it is the truth that emanates from you. As corny as that sounds. In fact, get ready to gag, you have inspired me to not only stay alive but my new goal is to do a TED talk myself. (Which may or may not be an acceptable idea, LOL). But, hey, doesn't hurt to try! Lord knows I have some pretty scary, but I think, relatable truth to share. Bless you, Saxon. You have no idea the gift you have and the gift you give us all.

MJ Mo3 I slept in my car for about 2 years. The housing is expensive, in my experience I was going through something mentally though. The profile photo I have is from 2013 and I was homeless, employed with benefits. I had to go through something. Now I manage 30 properties in downtown LA and on the verge of being a firefighter.
