Good old Mellors, the 'proper' traffic lights for the UK since 1972.

We used to have incandescent traffic lights like these all over less developed regions of Taiwan, now they’re all either badly broken or replaced with LEDs

Couldn’t see the controller but a Plessey 200 perhaps? Dear lord I haven’t seen them in years! Unless the controller is updated and they kept the old street equipment. Still got a few 400s knocking about, just pulled out the last CX in my area of work and before that pulled out the last GECs we had, so it seems the oldest we have now is probably the MPC.

Must have been a pelican at one point. Still has pelican decals on the buttons but operates as a puffin

Yes I definitely noticed that when I was there - the decals which include the flashing sequence are still on the button boxes, but the modules themselves don't flash - rather they go straight out for a short amount of time - like on a puffin crossing.

No it operates as a Toucan crossing not Puffin

Great video! Weird how there isn't any kind of a flashing clearance phase.

Thank you! 👍😊 Judging by the illustrations on the buttons, there used to be a flashing phase at this particular crossing. However, it seems to have been replaced with a timer, which seems fairly lengthy

@@SouthEastLevelCrossings I wonder why they changed it like that...

freebrickproductions because Pelicans (flashing amber) are determined to be unsafe because drivers kept driving through flashing ambers when pedestrians were still crossing. This one seems to be on a timer, but most Puffins/Toucans have detection to extended the crossing period if need be. They can also cancel a crossing demand if a pedestrian crosses prematurely or runs off.
