There are precise rules for this, because it is a religion. Old money is just a status of which a family has been profiting off of the work of their ancestors and can look like anything, but people in the comments critique this look as though it has rules. The old money aesthetic is based on the whole beverly hill, tennis skirts, brown boots and cardigans style. No where does it require for modesty (predominantly from women), which church looks do. But that was also not my point at all. My point is that everyone is so obsessed with the "old money aesthetic," not realising that 1. People with old money do not dress like this at all, so critiquing it is useless because it is based off of Pinterest imaginations, and 2. Trying to dress like old money to look more classy (which is not perse what the creator is doing, but the people in the comments are having quite the attitude for an aesthetic based off of something they do not have), will never work because people can tell that you are a "poser." So everyone who is so mad and argumentative about this look not being enough "old money," do not even realise that the creator is just doing this for fun. And actually trying to blend in with the old money crowd is stupid, because even if she wore something that was not cropped, she would still not be giving "old money."

Simplicity and modesty were/are the keys to old money esthetic. Old money doesn't include wearing clothes that show the belly. Legs, to a certain extent, but definitely no belly or cleavage. Even bathing suits are modest. If you want genuine inspo on old money outfits search up old money from the 80s and 90s. As you'll be able to tell NO ONE had crop tops despite them being the absolute rave of the 90s.
