Been living in Tyldesley since 1980 from when I was a babs, the place has seen fair ol' amount of change during then, mostly for the worst. I would have loved to have seen the railway up and running, the current day location of Tyldesley Railway Station is now marked by a quite uncomfortable bench, though there is talk of removing busway and installing rail back partially, which I am of course all for!

lived int jig new bank st till 1963 when parents took us off to New Zealand came back for first time in 1995 ,stood at top of street looked down with great emotion ,railway gone,our house also,new ones built,but what a feeling...home again

Hi Barry my name is Paul Walsh but coming up as wifes on comments.Thanks for sharing photos..I lived there till I was 6yrs old almost 60 now,there was a family a bit further down from us on right with two or three kids with red hair,and a little girl opposite called Julie...my first girlfriend.Dont know how our ages compare?All the best ?..Paul

Barry - thank you so much for this video. I moved away from Atherton over 20 years ago but some of these pictures really tugged the heart strings. Fradan Radio - wow I used to walk past that every day on my way to the bus to Trafford Park from Punchbowl. Sadly Atherton is a shadow of that now. Elliot Street in Tyldesley still looks the same though :)
