The old cobble streets bring back memories, I was born in Ireland but raised in Bradford. The frist place we lived in was a at the rear of a back to back house at 199 Lumb lane, about the year 1962.

Very interesting, many buildings in Bradford we're built but Irish workman. 199 Lumb Lane still exists, one of the very few original buildings left on that side that was once a dwelling,

Again, an excellent video. The area around Planetrees Road (always an interesting location I thought) looks strange and empty without the brooding Birkshall gas holders. A bit like the New Lane area of Laisterdyke when Whitehead's mill was demolished ~20 years ago now. Ugly maybe but gas holders were very much landmark features of the urban/industrial landscape and very few are still left intact. Photograph them while you still can!

The b/w photos are a wonderful time capsule and they have an oldie charm and there's no denying there's something about cobbled roads that adds charm to any scene but Bradford itself certainly looks a lot better these days.

Hi Dodger hope you're well! Going around and filming them in comparison to Nick's photos some of the areas do look better, and sadly some don't. I can imagine though those houses that have been demolished were in very poor condition as were some of the streets, some of us remember them! However I will say this, the people I came across were lovely, helpful and one of them knew the little girl that's in thumbnail picture.

@@TheBradfordDistrictChannel I'm well thanks, hope you are too. I always get excited when I come across a road that still has its cobbles. It's great to hear you were well received when out and about. What a comparison that would have been to have the girl as the lady she is now at the same location. I always enjoy your videos and such a good mix of subjects.
