Brilliant. This was my era; I bought my first cricket bat in Albert Wards. I left for foreign climes (Preston) in 1963!

I remember well some of those old places, amazing to see the station as it used to be.

Love the song This Lancashire Town, reminds me of home. Live in Scotland now, not the same going back now everything has changed :( i think the market place was the biggest crime the council committed in the town centre.

@1:42 I believe that's the railway bridge at Hall 'i th' Wood. The housing estate would already have been built by then, but ridiculously there was no station until 1986.

@2:56 I'm not sure when this photo is from, perhaps the 70s from the car. Everything you can see in that photo is still the same now...well now there's a horrible mural on those white panels on the church.

By 'old' I assume you mean concrete monstrosities built in the 1960's. I would have preferred it if we had renovated old buildings instead of knocking everything down. Bolton town centre used to have more cinemas than any town in Britain. How many are there now? None...

It should be a part of Lancashire, Greater Manchester is an artificial creation with no history.

The Post Office has never accepted that it is anywhere other than Lancashire. Greater Manchester is a political area.
