Spent many, many days and nights in Boston. The great thing about it is that you can walk from place to place. Waterfront, N.End, Quincy Market, the Common. All close by.

My God. And to think I used to walk Boston everyday, never really thought how it looked a hundred years ago. This is incredible.

And 200 years ago, a lot of it was wetlands or underwater.

1:38 hotel vendome. I lost my firefighter great uncle in the fire that destroyed this hotel. The floor collapsed and there is now a huge memorial of the 9 fireman who perished after the floor collapsed. God rest their souls as heros. Wonderful photo you have there. You should donate it to the Boston fire museum.

So sad what was done to the city in the latter half of the 20th Century. So much beautiful history destroyed to build some of the ugliest buildings imaginable over the wreckage.

I film these places on my channel. It’s crazy how things have stayed the same and changed also

I recognize some of the buildings and structures that still stand, but the streets have changed.

Pity, During the 50s and 60s so many of those buildings were torn down.

1:37. 68 years later, in 1972, nine Boston firefighters died when a 5 story section of the building collapsed upon them as they extinguished a 'minor' fire in the Hotel Vendome.
