Those snaps of Aberfan are heartbreaking. I'm sure you know there's a memorial park there now where the school used to be. My step daughter lives across the way in Merthyr Vale, been up that way many, many times, me. Cheers butty

Yes a terrible disaster bonzey , as I was a member of a rescue organisation at the time , I was called to help . heartbreaking.

I remember Aberfan- Welsh family, living in Scotland, never seen my grandfather cry before. I'd just had my 9th birthday and that got through to me- that these children were my age- normally death seems so far away when you are a child. The photos are still harrowing and I don't suppose that will ever change. Remember someone being interviewed at the time and saying 'please stop sending toys, there aren't enough children to play with them'.
