A brief overview of GAZ 69A (1970).

My grandfather had one that he bought from the army. It was made in 1972 and people would come over in the winter in the middle of the night to ask grandfather to pull their cars out when they were stuck in the snow or in the mud! My 3 uncles, my brother and I we all learned how to drive in that car… so many memories… Thank you for rescuing and preserving all those beautiful cars for the future generations!

Oh damn! What a beauty😍 I saw one here in India in a tattered condition. Couldn't really make out either the make or the model until I did a bit of research online. And then, I saw this video 😍 Kudos to the owner & the restoration team. I can only imagine how many small little things were required to be sourced, or restored or made to its factory bundle!

Podziwiam że chciało ci się bawić w dolnozaworową staroć pijącą tyle paliwa ile wlałeś i to w latach 80tych- ale można mówić co się chce, jak kazało się żeby jechał to jechał, nie ważne przez co! Ale przy dzisiejszych cenach paliwa przemyślałbym zakup ze trzy razy ;)

if they actually make them again, like they look identical on the outside, but the inside is much nicer and cleaner, it runs with a nice inline 4 and a 4 speed auto, offer it up at a global flat price of 5000 in every existing currency, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Because its design is timeless, and I want one that has a nice, cleaner interior with an auto gearbox and smooth four wheel drive.

Wow! This is amazingly restored, a real beauty! We had a sligtly different versin of this old vehicle in our hang-gliding club, like 25 years ago, but it was in a much worse condition: it fired on three cylinders max, you had to hold the second gear with your hand, otherwise it jumped out and you definitely needed some training to be able to push in the third gear. Plus the gas tank was leaking, so we just had an extra portable tank in the cabin, with a rubber hose going into the engine... :)

Absolutely beautiful condition. I would have this home in New Zealand. Those skinny wheels would crawl you out of any situation. I noticed the Dodge Ram and was that a Zil parked behind in the gaurage?👍👍

Interesting way of locking the front hubs. In the US we have WARN hubs that lock by turning a dial. Unfortunately, if they aren't used much, one needs a very strong set of fingers.

i dont know where did he come up with that front end maybe they added those in later years but the ones i drove they didn't have that kind of engagement you just put it in gear from inside the cabin

Супер состояние, видать с консервации. У меня два вопроса. Если машина 70 года, почему окно заднее маленькое? Уже шли большие, и второе, нету цепи с кожухе на заднем дверце. А в остальном идеал. Береги его. Это настоящий раритет, а не реставрация. Ему цены нету вообще.

That’s an interesting way to lock the hubs. It’s a bit inconvenient but suppose you don’t unlock them till spring!
