Old Rusty Hand Plane Restoration

Hello folks! Today I want to show you my new restoration project about old rusty hand plane. I found this old tool at flea market, it’s really interesting place. So, I bought it for USD 1,5.
First of all I tried to disassemble this hand plane, but one screw stacked at first hand I decided to broke old plastic handle and make new wood handle for it. I had strong piece of wood, I guess it was a part of old chair.
So, then I used as usual electrolysis to remove all rusty from tool and after that starting to rescue all parts of hand plane. I really liked that old tools because. I hope you enjoy this video!

Когда я восстанавливал свой точно такой же рубанок я замачивал в керосине.Но всё равно сорвал болты и пришлось брать другие- Это наверное у них болезнь такая ))))))))

хорошая робота а вот внутрение части рубанка всеже стоит покрасить потому как будет ржаветь и переднюю ручку немного переделайте под класическую форму луковицы а вот у меня задачка по сложней досталось пару колодок от рубанков не комплектных нет ручек нехватает прижимной планки нож неродной и все покрыто большим слоем ржавчины и главное протрите и смажте железко и прижим маслом камелии удачи в вашей работе

This is old Soviet Union tool, with really funny price of 3 rubles 50 kopeks. It is early 60-s, after money reform of 1961...

Была такая же ситуация, один в один! Пришлось рассверливать, правда у меня получилось это сделать. Размачивать пытался неделю. Знакомый подсказал, правда поздно, то что можно прогреть сам винт.

You may never heard of using what you have to do the job. It promotes flexibility and creativity. Maybe not as stylish as running down to the nearest big box to buy the latest doo dad but it works.
