I am very impressed, You did very well....say near the end, I notice that there are no clips holding that log/cant down does it stay there by its own wieght ? or did I miss something....Anyhoo, well done!

I use log dogs only for the first cut when the log is round, to hold it in place when cutting the first slab. After that, it's resting on its own weight. The side roller will push it against the measure box rollers and also help to drive the log forward. It has a hydraulic motor. That prevents the log for slipping backward on the table. This also allows the log to go through the cutting area, always straight and even to the cutting blade, even when the log has tensions in it and takes the banana shape sometimes. That's why I sometimes adjust the end of the log along the cutting process. I hope I made it clear enough 😀

Rudimentary, but nevertheless effective! Needs must when the Devil rides eh!? Cheers

@nigelparker5886 Sorry, I didn't catch up at the first time 😅 My English lacks sometimes. In Estonia, we say: Trouble or thirst drives the bull into the well 😄

WHAT?? No Snow and Ice? How are you going to survive without freezing half to death? And your skin is already changing color! And no MUD and Water! This is a foreign land to you! Good job on the new bearings and the grease is the life of them. I don't blame you about the blower bearings. You'll have to repair the housing before long and then you'll have it in the shop with a big torch and maybe a hydraulic press to heat and ease the shaft out of the pulley. It was roaring but constant greasing will help it last longer. I've had mower bearings do the same thing and I greased them every use and they lasted till I could put new ones in. Happy summer, CHEERS and Blessings!

Yeah, time is flying. Especially my right arm, which is changing skin. I also 😅 Got the welding burn while wearing a T shirt. Yeah, I try to finish up with the logs before I ripping off this blower to maintain it. Happy summer to you too! Thanks for watching and for another nice comment, Lewie! Cheers 🍻

With split race bearings from SKF you wouldn't have to remove the shaft 😁 and with saw blades with exchangeable theeths you last longer bladewise
@AFHProjects Жыл бұрын
How can I remove the old bearings without removing the shaft? These teeth can be changed. It's common to change these when they get chips off.
@lewiemcneely9143 Жыл бұрын
@@AFHProjects I want to see this too! He may be talking about poured babbitt bearings but you still have to pull the shaft to repour them. We shall see.

The fan bearings are dry and about to fail
@AFHProjects Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I haven't time to mess with them. No good tools for pulling the pulley and the fan from shaft. Bearings are noisy, but no big slosh in there. I have to mill these logs and then I have more time to mess with these. Thanks for watching!
