Nice restoration of what was a cheap knife in the first place. It’s better, I’m sure than when it was new. Thanks 🎸🔪

As someone who lives in Sheffield I heartily approve of this restoration. And the manufacturer is still going.

I lost this same exact model of knife in the woods of New Hampshire when I was camping as a kid. I choose to believe you have found it and restored it. This was even more satisfying than most restorations for me.

That’s a restoration! Wow that thing could almost pass for brand new… Imagine what that knife would’ve meant to somebody back in the day… It’s hard to imagine, people didn’t have much and what they did have they respected it and took care of it… You earned my subscription! Thank you

It's made by Richards of Sheffield. I think they went out of business in the early 1980.

It looks good, but when you open each blade by pressing on the “sharp” blade edge and it doesn’t even cut your glove, it’s pretty obvious that all the blades are completely dull, which makes this a useless display piece.

Hi ReXtorer!! Can I know which metal do you use for the sticks to hold everything together? I've tried both stainless steel and brass but they are both quite hard to hammer flat. Could you give me some advise on that matter? Thanks a lot!!!

A very interesting refurb. Looks nice but the edges (saw, opener, blades, etc) would all need to be properly sharpened before it would be fit for its original uses. Still it makes an interesting approximation of the original item.

Did you ever think that maybe someone sent him this to restore because it’s sentimental and belonged to a deceased loved one? I don’t know if that’s the case, which is why I wouldn’t make a comment like this. It’s just disrespectful dude.

@ReXtorer Exactly! That blade has 3 functions that are useful to fishermen. The most obvious is the scaler, to remove fish scales. The notch on the end is a hook disgorger, to remove hooks safely. The 3rd function is the hook sharpener. It's the long slot on the blade. You drag the barb of the hook through it to sharpen & straighten dull or bent hook barbs.
