My good KZbin friend Chris from Bempton Bridlington sent me this set of images depicting the way things were in old Scarborough around 1870-80.

I love to look at old photos and the stories about them. When I saw the word Scarborough, I thought of the 1966 song by Simon and Garfunkel "Scarborough Fair".....lol. This is a beautiful city. Thanks Tom and Chris.

Beautiful buildings need to be the standard again. What we're surrounded by lifts or lowers our spirits so much, and how lovely it would be to have these ornate buildings everywhere, instead of the concrete or pressboard non-descript blocks that get built now. Thanks so much for showing these images!

Wow many thanks Hayley. Sadly I'm afraid that those days of fine old buildings are gone. They are too expensive to build at today's mad prices! Best wishes from the Belfast Castlereagh hills.
