We're in a time of complicated recipes, techniques, and new grills with all the bells & whistles. But the simplicity of chicken pieces over charcoal briquettes is deliciously satisfying!! Well done sir!!

Always great to keep it simple and do something a little old school!

I wouldn't call this "simple". There is a lot of technique, rubs, and sauce.

@@emmgeevideo Just grilling some chicken and making up a sauce to go with it. In comparison to other BBQ, like brisket, ribs, etc., it's quite simple. Just let it go on the grill and watch the internal temps.

Man that takes me back to when I was a kid watching my uncles BBQ chicken and pork loins for our family reunions at the lake. There's just something comforting about good old school BBQ chicken. And that Chicken Rub is the best I've tried so far. I need to reorder another bottle and get some yard birds on the Weber at my place. Great video brother.

You would think a professional cooker like him would realize his thermometer above the coals is higher than where the chickens at. Looks great and sure it’s amazing in flavor. Love the rubs and sauces of his.
@HeathRilesBBQ2 ай бұрын
I mentioned that in the video. Above the coals is for sure going to be hotter than on the cool zone. However, you still want your temp under control and adjust your air vents correctly.

Heath, if I were to go direct heat the entire time, would just using straight vinegar based bbq sauce for a baste still burn? Or is there not enough sugar in the sauce for the chicken to burn?
@HeathRilesBBQ2 ай бұрын
There's still probably going to be sugar in a vinegar sauce. Consistent direct heat could make it caramelize.

Can you clarify , let it rest? My question to what temp or how much time…. Cheers from Canada
@HeathRilesBBQ2 ай бұрын
Let the chicken rest before immediately slicing. Want to let the meat rest and absorb those juices. If you immediately cut into it, juices will run out and the meat will be dry. Full directions and temps are in the description! Cheers!
