That brings back some memorys for me allister. I used to work for finley mc veigh from creagarusky near killinchy. He told me about going to cooke bros place and having to park the lorry on the chain so the guard dogs couldnt get at him. He told me that ken cooke wass a mechanical genuis that designed the first forage harsester in ireland and had had a tractor tyre fall on him filled with water and had weights round the hub and an apprentess actually managed to lift it of him. He also told me ken started work at miskellys quarry in ballygown where he got the job by rebuilding a quarry lorrys gearbox out of parts in a box. Lol.

Do you know of any old folks that would have photos tucked away in a drawer somewhere? Pay money to see them

Great to see the old style in action. When the 7i7,719 or819 were in their heyday, there was nothing there to drive them. Maybe a 7000 or 7600 which didn't have half enough horsepower.

Lovely to see so many classics at work. The Muir Hill and chopper appear to have some serious out put. I assume it's the only one with a seperate blower.

massey did one with a seperate blower

@@johnholness1470 Havn't seen one. maybe they didn't come to Ireland. If they did they would have been un common. New Holland ,Claas,Taarup JF, John Deere, Pottinger and Mengle would have had most of the market

Should take the shoes off the trailer so they don’t catch the swaths’ brilliant video 👍

Wish I was there! I never seen a harvester with the spout on the left like the 1 on the muirhill? Looks like a high capacity harvester?
@petereast33162 жыл бұрын
We had horizontal and vertical extensions on the 717 spout so that you could load the other side. Easier for the driver to have the trailer the same side as the pickup

Seeing the engine driven 550 was a treat. What make of engine, and was it gas or diesel??
@allistairc1234 жыл бұрын
Deutz air cooled diesel!
@7891ph4 жыл бұрын
@@allistairc123 I thought it looked air cooled!!! Deutz is another brand that didn't have a large presence in my area, but I've talked with a few farmers who had them, and they got good reviews. Thanks!!!
