I might be biased but the JVC always gona hit better. I've got the older/wider JVC and the bass still out-does some of the newer boomboxes. As a Dance teacher my JVC has travelled the world with me and I refuse to get rid of her, people have offered me alot of money but i will never part with her....she's part of the family and anyone that knows me, knows Juliet (the JVC boombox) 😅😅😅

Still use my Kaboom to this day, one I have is a few years older then yours, but basically same thing.

Alwas loved does jvc. A tip if u seal the ports of the jvc bass wil go lower. If u have the time open you're jvc and seal the jvc inside it wil sound great

I don’t see how that’s possible. I have played test tones through mine (original design) and it electrically cuts off at about 25 HZ. A properly ported sub requires less power to play down to its tuned frequency and output falls off rapidly below that. The simple fact that such a smallish sub has any output at 25 HZ is astonishing. Plugging the bass port would eliminate the port noise mentioned in this review but it would also reduce overall output. A sealed sub usually requires more power to achieve the same output.

@@mikee2923 if air is leaking from other places other than the port u wil lose bass. And if the port is sealed of u wil lose the port noise and yes less DB but no port turbulence. U can just turnup the volume a noch to compensate
