If you pay to much attention to the comments you will go nuts. Each band has all type of fans. Some tent to be a bit toxic plus the fact that most are at home bored as hell with this pandemic. Some of the more negative comments comes from non-muscian fans. This comment was before watching this reaction.

MISA (bass) has earned the name “barefoot assassin” for a reason. She is lethal and kills you without you noticing until it’s too late. She has, over the last few years, let that beautiful smile loose more often and it’s a joy to see. Band Maid is my #1 band currently (50 yr old 80s metal head here) but my #2 group is Aldious. Another all girl Japanese band. The singer has a very unique style that you’ll either love or hate. Try “We Are” for heavy or “Fragile” for the quintessential 80s power ballad. I swear it is up there with Bon Jovi or Def Leppard for power ballads.

Hundreds with your comment CFH Cosplay, I'm nearly 60, so 70's 80's was awesome for me too.. I have 4 current favorites.. Band maid and Aldious, + Love bites and Gacharic spin.. 4 Awesome Japanese female groups.. Don't need anything else.. Beautie, awesome talent, great live shows, and the best music I've ever heard.. It doesn't get any better... Best wishes from France..

This song is THE song that describes Band-Maid as a unit... a band. 5 mates having so much fun with each other with a song that not only is a crowd favorite, but a BAND favorite.... There is sooo much more to these ladies than what you have seen (80+ songs with a new album out in January 2021)... And away from the stage, they are so unassuming, so humble... so ...normal...

Honestly the bass player Misa is actually one of the most goofy members in the band. She is cool and badass when she performs, but during breaks and stuff she goofs around and makes funny faces with the other members. She also keeps a good alcoholic beverage on stage during each performance, she says it helps keep her nerves under control.

I just received my blu-ray disc of this concert yesterday, World Domination Tour. Two hours of pure happiness!! I am 58 years old and have been to many concerts in my life, mostly in the 80's. They are the most talented I've seen. The more songs you react to with these girls, the more you will love them. Looking forward to seeing more reactions. Thank You.

Yes, as you were discussing at the end, watch "The Dragon Cries" music video. I think of it as a Hendrix-vibe late 1960's- early 70's bluesy psychedelic rock anti-Vietnam War protest or "the world/humanity is going to the crapper" type of anthem. It's all English, it comes with subtitles printed right on the video (no need to click the CC button), although the words are in Script-style so it's kinda hard to read (would've been easier in Roman or sanserif). Produced by Tony Visconti. Anyway, I like it, it's catchy, somber & kinda makes you think. Maybe a sign of the times (pandemic). Some fans say it's not this band's style of music, but I say, hey this is Band Maid, they can do & play anything they want. Thanks for giving them a chance. And if you don't know by now yet, Miku Kobato, the rhythm guitar & backing vocals, is the Founder of the band. She's very cute, *sigh ... sorry had to say it. Oh & one thing that is unfortunate at the moment with Band Maid is that their official music videos do not have subtitles. That was one thing I noticed when I first watched them & something you touched on. Hopefully they realize that they might connect even better through words if they add subs/cc, so that it fully binds their entire content of video, music & lyrics together for non-speakers.

great reaction, as usual, you are very deep in your comments. When you ask for advice on which Band-Maid songs to use, the answer is very difficult, I would do them all. it's true exactly as you say, they have a lot of fun in concerts and drag you into their fun without escape. They are also very funny in a Band-Maid concert, anything can really happen spontaneously, you can see hugs in the middle of a song, stroking her hair, or Miku lifting Kanami's skirt while she does a solo, Kanami tripping and almost falling while jumping like crazy. Kanami overwhelming Saiki, as I have seen, and Saiki bursting into laughter as Kanami keeps jumping around. Miku losing things around the stage, Misa drinking while she plays, Akane disappearing behind the drums as she continues to play, I don't know how she did it, because she was taking something apart or she lost something I don't know. In the break, Miku talks to the audience and doesn't notice that no one can hear her because her voice comes back through the guitar and whistles everything and all the girls burst out laughing while Miku doesn't understand what happens. (I think someone has put a video of this). All of this is also very funny they are also very spontaneous. Many say that Saiki is cold as an iceberg, I don't believe this, I think Saiki is very sensitive and may be shy and she must have her time to really get into the game, you can see from the videos in japan with her fans she is immediately ready and starts like a rocket, in Europe in 2019 I saw her enter the stage too determined with a very fixed gaze, and only when the audience reacted did she really free herself. Your reactions are among the best on youtube, sincere congratulations. Alex

I've been a Band-Maid fan for years. I don't worry about the lyrics most of the time there's usually something lost in translation anyway. I treat the voices like like another instrument. I listen to Korean, Chinese, Russian, Mongolian, Spanish etc... music. Most of the time they don't have subtitles. I suppose I could Google the English translation of the song. I usually don't. I just like the music. I grew up listening to Frank Zappa RIP. In a couple of months or years of listening to international music you'll know what I'm talking about. Right now my 3 favorite girl bands I listen to is Band-Maid and Babymetal both Japanese bands. A Korean band Blackpink. Thanks for liking Band-Maid.

Speaking of old school, you should Google "Jimmy Page Band Maid". Spoiler alert, he was blown away especially by one member and said she was the reincarnation of a member of Led Zeppelin. You'll have to Google it if you want to know who. If you go back to Dice, you might see it differently. Also, check out the music video of Rhinne. It's one of their heaviest songs in my opinion . And lastly have to give a shout-out to the song Real Existence. They played 5 shows in America last year. One night at HOB in Dallas. Tickets sold out in ten minutes and shot up to 300 a piece an hour later. I couldn't afford it 😭. Next time around I fear lot of Americans will know how good they are and it will be harder to get tickets.

There is only one other musician I have witnessed on stage that stands mostly expressionless and that is Tony Iommi of Black sabbath but his stage presence is awesome!! Im 59 and my first concert was Kiss late 70's and I have seen more bands live than I can poke a stick at and my opinion of band maid live is this, I thought I had seen it all until now, enough said!! Great reaction by the way big lad 😎

Also 45, also been pretty much uninterested in Rock/Metal for about 15 years. Discovered this band a week ago and just can't stop listening. I keep getting the urge to point out how great this member or that member is, but that would be a disservice to the others because they're just all so damn great! This performance in particular has got to be my favourite simply for how much fun they're having with it and each other. It's infectious as hell and a beautiful thing to see.

I mean i am from Germany and english is not my mothertongue f.e.! Band-Maid has fans from ALL OTHER THE WORLD, so MAYBE there was just a misunderstanding. But that´s in all Bands with passioned fans, so it´s nice that you talked about in a calm way and you earned my sub afterwards. Have a great week and i wish you a lot of fun by discovering this unique and IMO best rockband on the planet! Check out Real Existence. Misa and Saiki have such a great a great reaction. They are smiling and laughing through out most of the performance. Oh. By the way. In case that you do not know Misa is the Bass player and Saiki is the lead vocalist. Yes Band Maidiacs are very protective and passionate, but please do not let that deter the fun of discovering their music. I believe that they are supposed to be dropping a new single either tomorrow or in the next few days. Their new album will be released in January.

I'm normally a lyrics guy. With Band-Maid I can look them up later, the music is just SO damn good. So from what I get from translation, since about 80% of this is in Japanese, is she's saying I am me, I do things my own way, and you can accept me as I am or go away. Delivered not with anger, but with determination and joy. I AM free. Rarely if ever has a band brought so much happiness. And I've read what I can and watched video interviews and when we on this side of the pond are lucky enough, there are English subtitles. And the more I learn about the band members, the more I respect and like them.

Exactly. I can't understand Japanese. Well, maybe 1 or 2 words. doesn't matter. Whether it's: Band-Maid, Aldious, Unlucky Morpheus (not all female), BABYMETAL(backing band is dudes), Mary's Blood, Doll$Boxx. Now, Lovebites does sing everything in English, but definitely a Japanese band. And there are lots more of All female bands. For many, language just doesn't matter. Talent does. And the joy they bring. Me: 66. Going on 2.5 yrs OMG great Japanese rock music. Also Waggakki Band. Enjoy. And great reaction.

Clearly those who thought you were being derogatory about being "tight and in the pocket" are clearly not musicians. It doesn't mean stiff and boring. It means, like you said, precise and staying within the context with the song. The pocket is where the groove resides. Just like what Victor Wooten says, "can't hold no groove, if you ain't got no pocket". Some Band-Maid fans are passionate to a fault. I could be extremely pedantic and say that you didn't give Miku enough love for her vocal performance here, but I won't because I saw your reaction to it in real time. I could tell that it was unexpected and it adds yet another dynamic to the song.

Good stuff. I'm old school also and passionate fans are usually a bit offended when others' reactions are not the same as theirs. Try just critically commenting on Buddy Rich vs. Max Roach battle or Jimmy Page vs. Jeff Beck vs. Clapton Yardbirds' guitarists and all hell will break loose. Of course you know all this and I found Band Maid 9 months ago and I am absolutely blown away by them but I know that when I play Miles Davis or Charlie Parker and my friends say they do not like the music I get a bit aggravated lol. Same with Cream. How can any Rock fan in their 60s not like Cream? hehe. I hear ya. Great Reaction! Happy now? haha

I love Band-Maid...who I feel are some of the best instrumentalists I have ever seen...and they have a huge variety in their music. They have some of the most musically complex songs I have ever heard. Don't be afraid of Band Maid fans...lol...they re extremely passionate. Unleash the Archers is my new favorite band...Tonight we Ride is great...but I really love Apex, Abyss, and Legacy. As a fellow recent metal revivalist...a few recommendations...BabyMetal(Japanese Metal Band ala Dragonforce with a trio of teenage girl vocalists...yeah...I know...but one song and you will be hooked)--Headbanger, Road to Redemption, Rondo of Nightmare...and then...enjoy...lol Also...Amaranthe has a very unique sound feel and presentation with trio of lead singers, male and female clean vocals and a growler who can spit some serious rap metal sounds...some songs are AWESOME...others are a little pop-metalish. Check out Helix, BOOM1!, Digital World, and Invincible. Then...Sabaton...ummm...Swedish War History Metal??? Their live performances from Woodstock in Poland are amazing...particularly 40:1. But they literally do not have a bad song. 82nd all the Way and Bismark are two of my favorites. Then...travelling a little far into the obscure and oddly satisfying... Nanowar Of Steel - Valhallelujiah--- LOL and Wind Rose. Dwarven Power Metal...exists. Diggy Diggy Hole and Drunken Dwarves are great places to start. Then The Returning Race for slightly different feel...

Old Nerd! Greetings from Shizuoka, that little place in Japan under the benign care of a dormant volcano called Mount Fuji! Being a (very) old nerd myself and living in japan, and fighting for recognition of Band Maid, you have my (humble) respect! Sorry to be so late commenting on your reaction, but late is better than never! Do not worry too much. You are wiser than loads of so-called fans. You show a lot of grace by explaining things that should not be. You are a reactor, full stop. The only thing I worry about you is that you embarked yourself (I will be rowing with you) on an endless trip with five tiny giants that many a person will soon claim they are their best fans! Let us enjoy that trip together and forget the unwanted waves, our boat does not care! Blithering me, I almost forgot to mention: Bleedin' good reaction from you! Alright I will row to the next one! LOL Best regards, Robert-Gilles

10:20 Don't you love it when all of your excitement and joy hindering you from seeking the words to explain it, and in the end they're just culminated as a simple "HOLY SH*T!"? "So many people can play well, but they're not perform well." You sir, you have my respect.

To the point you made about 7 minutes in. The way I normally describe that is if an entertainer isn't enjoying their work, how could I possibly enjoy their product? They definitely enjoy their work, and I'm right there with them. Can make up for some talent when it isn't there, but not a problem for them.

Stay the course on your expert/ critical opinions because that is why I subscribed to you. This is coming from a fansite member (never was a fanboy ever until now), older guy musician born in the 60's, who was a single dad to a daughter. What got me is that you figured out (I think on your first Band Maid rxn) that Kanami (lead guitar) had an extensive musical instrument playing background of some sort, just by the fact that she didn't need to look at her fretboard while she was shredding. BTW, I believe she is a classically trained pianist, who does most of the foundational compositions for the band. よくやった (yoku yatta - well done).

I don't think I've ever seen a entire band have more fun than BAND-MAID. Eddie Van Halen had this much joy when he played. If you're looking another country to check out. The Hellfreaks are from Hungary. Witches Heal, Red Sky, or Men in Grey videos from their God On The Run record are some I really like.

Well I'm glad you got to experience Akane's talent. Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin saw BANDMAID in Japan and after the show ask if he could meet Akane after the concert, Akane couldn't believe it, she thought it was a joke, but no it wasn't, as the picture made in a Japan rock magazine.

the thing about Saiki (lead singer) is that she has a totally killer vibrato; in other songs you will hear hit a delicious falsetto, but that vibrato is always there. Traditional Japanese music (call it their opera) features female singers who employ an exaggerated vibrato that can be, honestly, hard on western ears but Saiki has modified it perfectly to rock n roll. And Akane (the drummer) is a total beast, and classicallyy trained on a variety of instruments

Jimmy Page said that Akane Hirose was the reincarnation of John Bonham. You might check out their song 'Rinne' or 'Reincarnaion' BTW. It features the drums as well. Akane and MISA played together at the Tokyo School of Music before BAND-MAID. Akane suggested MISA for Bass. The version of 'PLAY!' that's still out is not the best version, IMHO. But you should watch the Official Music Video for both 'Rinne' and 'Blooming'. If you want to see MISA smile watch 'Real Existence' LIVE. And don't forget the BAND-MAIKO videos.

Regarding your comments at the beginning of your video: I'll bet that more than 90% of your Band-Maid comments are positive. Probably 98%. Maidiacs are an awesome yet crazy lot of musical geniuses. Your "Likes" at this point are 191 to 1 thumbs down. Here, I'll make it 192 "Likes". So why are you complaining? You should be rejoicing. I'll bet Chewie is. Good Chewie... Just reached the end of your reaction video: Welcome OldSkuleNerd Maidiac! Welcome!

@Charles Velten I agree with you, Chuck. But for some reason in the states, I don't know if it's due to a saturation of classic rock on the radio or that some great leftover bands like the Foo Fighters, etc. are still performing filling the need for a diminishing generation of rockers, the appetite for great, "new" RnR and hard rock just isn't there (here), decreasing incentives for any new groups to emerge. What I'm trying to say on my hungover brain (from watching the Maids all night long ;-) is that there's no hot RnR product to shake things up. Not a problem in Japan because they don't have that extensive legacy to rely on like the USA has. I'd love to see Band-Maid come over here (USA) and take over. It's 2:51 Sunday afternoon. Good night! 😴

@Charles Velten Interesting journey you've made. I also come from decades of playing lead guitar in rock bands and have been following Band-Maid closely since 2014. I have a real affinity to Kanami's playing style. It's so great to see them achieve greatness in their craft. Now I just want them to experience their hard earned and deserved greatness in acceptance and success.

@Charles T. Velten - about Miku, just expanding on what you said about learning guitar from scratch: It is true she had no guitar skills at the start. She does have talent, she has worked tremendously in the past 7 years to develop her guitar skills, and she has come a long long way. It helps to have Kanami as sensei, but she has really put in the work becoming a true professional guitarist. In the free livestream they did last spring, Kanami's channel was too low. But what we heard from Miku as a result totally impressed me. "The Pigeon is all over it! She's playing a rockin' line!" And of course more recently, a perfect performance on the insanely fast Different. I of course had nothing to do with that, but couldn't help but feel proud of her. I enjoyed the interviews with subtitles for Young Guitar magazine, it brought out how much they, especially Miku, are even now working and stretching their skills with much of the new material. Not resting on their laurels ever! And the second one with all of them speaking, about the same amount, was really cool. So I applaud your idea about a documentary with a "this is your life" approach. That would be exceedingly popular I think!

Great reaction video! The Maids cook up something different every song, always tasty and served with a smile! One song they do without a single smile, however, is the MV for Daydreaming, an excellent power ballad and one of my favorites.

I love that they kid around on stage! When I saw them in...err...I'm pretty sure it was either Helsinki or Paris they made Saiki, the lead singer, laugh so hard she couldn't sing for almost a whole verse. Oh, the most impressive about the drum solo is that she keeps playing to the click track perfectly during the solo. I played bass professionally for about 10 years and can honestly only think of four or five drummers that can do that this well.
